today is the first anniversary of Abigail's adoption !!! here she is waiting to play attack under her chiffon plaything.
last night we watched the daVinci code. what a bomb, they totally messed up a really fun book.
plus I decided to put up a 9 feet winter solstice tree.
sat myelf in the very first row
wrapped my arms around my waist

Going to see the Davinci Code..by myself. My husband is still in alabama somewhere..they screwed up his load, sounds like a nightmare..but he wont be home til 9 tonite or later he said... Anyone that I can think of has taken off for the holiday weekend..
Our weekend is screwed by this company... they are so stupid..they have changed it to 7 day work week... hubby says office depot has too much time on their hands...lol.. but he was supposed to be home by lunch today..have off the rest of the day..tomorrow, work monday, then off tuesday and back wed...but because he leaves to go into work at like 2 am... it makes for a short nite and a long day for him.
Tomorrow he will be good and plenty tired.
Do they still make good n plenty candies?

The credibility of the church should be such that when someone says, "The Church hid the truth," everyone but a very few detractors should say, "No way." But the credibility of the church is below that of the local used car dealers.
Some years ago the newspaper ran a picture of a car parked along a road near a local car dealer. The sign on it proclaimed. "This car was sold to me by xxxx. It isn't safe to drive and they refuse to fix it." This was before the lemon laws so at that time the average Joe didn't have a chance. But this one did. He did it carefully. The car was parked in a public pull off. He could park the car there for something like 48 hours without breaking one single law and if it was gone for 24 hours it could come back!
Before the first 48 hours was up the dealer had contacted him and taken the car back with a full refund. I understand that during the time the car was there they did not sell a single car. Apparently people believed it. But the church has a credibility problem and it has for hundreds of years. Let's never point to the early church as a model to follow, it had it's problems. And its leaders where human with feet of clay. At least some of them recognized that, according to history one was hanged upside down because he felt unworthy to be hanged the same way Jesus was. Paul called himself the least because he persecuted the church. He also said he was happy he didn.t baptize anyone because he didn't want them to say they were of Paul. And Peter erred so badly that Paul got in his face publicly over it. For those with a complete concordance, check the word withstood in the KJV in Acts. "I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed," Paul said of Peter.
Look at some of the things that the church has done.
Early translations of the bible into the languages of the people were burned, people were killed to destroy manuscripts, and the bible was considered anathema. The church did not want the scripture in the hands of the laity. There was a fear of masses who knew the truth.
The church has been involved in political evil, inside and outside the church. This statement can be made of the Catholic Church but there have been times that other churches have been guilty. Let's face it, the Catholic Church has had more exposure and opportunity than some of the more recent groups. The church has hid abuse within it's walls. Certainly the Catholic Priest sex scandals are forefront in our minds here but on smaller scales it has been done in other churches. I believe only the size, age and organization of the Catholic Church has made it more noticeable. I have seen it first hand in other places.
But let's not hold the leaders responsible without holding the laity to the same rules. I know Christian business men who have been involved in illegal dealings, Christians who have broken laws, Christians that live like the devil and proclaim that Jesus is Lord.
Please understand, we all miss it at times. I believe in God's grace. But brothers and sisters the time is long past for us to grow up and live like Christians.
Dr. James Kennedy says that the reason there is so much of this in the church today is because discipline is as dead as the proverbial do-do bird. I believe that.
I don't care how loud or quietly you pray. I don't care how loud you sing, what songs you sing, what kinds of music you use in your worship if you care to use music. I don't care which version of the bible you use, the worst translation is still adequate to have you follow Christ. I don't care if you speak in tongues or not. I don't care if you do the mass in Latin or English or I you don't do it at all. I don't care which version of the Apostles Creed you use or if you even use it at all. I don't care if you baptize in the trinity, the father son and holy spirit, or in Jesus, or if you even baptize at all. All of this is just what Paul said of the Judizers of his time, "I count all of this as dung."
Some of you are mad at me right now for goring your sacred cow. Don.t waste your time and energy on being angry with me. I don't matter. Just repent.

What I want to see is us doing what Jesus said.
He told us to love God and our neighbor.
Our churches might as well have out the signs parked in front of them . "they can't be trusted here," "They will hide the truth."
And people are going to hell because they don't believe us. They are believing Dan Brown because HE IS MORE CREDIBLE THAN THE CHURCH. The church has hid the truth and have lied to the people. In some cases like the Priest scandal it was systemic, in others it is just plain undisciplined daily living.
If this is not a wake up call, what will it take? When a novel (that the writer says is really based on fact) can be more credible, haven't we missed it somewhere? It is easy to point a finger at Dan Brown but let's get out the mirror and check. I can only control one person in this, me. I am. Will you?

Does anyone else think that all this debate and controversy around The DaVinci Code is the dumbest fucking thing they've ever heard/seen? For fuck's sake, it's A WORK OF FICTION!!! FICTION!!!! IT'S NOT TRUE!!!! Personally, I don't believe that the Bible is either, but honest to fucking god. I saw one interview on the news with a woman who was organizing a protest on Friday when the movie comes out. She said, (and I quote) "Either they'll chose Jesus, or they'll choose Dan Brown." Am I the only one that thinks she's lacking Darwinian Apex Genes? Because you know what? All this does is make me want to go out and read the book and see the movie more. In fact, I might even see it more than once just to spite the dumbfucks that are saying things like that. I mean, the History Channel is having a whole week devoted to whether or not the story is true. A whole week. On the History Channel. Because some religious figures don't like the story. My dad told me that the pope even came out and said that good Catholics won't see this movie. All I have to say to that is:
Which also leads to the question of what are they trying to hide? What is the big fucking deal? Why make a big fucking deal out of it? Don't you think that's a little suspicious? But then again, anyone who blindly follows a book that was written by white heterosexual males over 2000 years ago and doesn't bother to bring any of its contradictions into question will also probably blindly follow a leader that says this movie is bad because its wrong, or whatever dumb fucking reason he can come up with. Honestly, I think that this whole thing is just a conspiracy to make Dan Brown more money. Yes, you heard that right. He's made so much from the book that he sent messages out to religious officials and told them to make a big fucking deal out of A WORK OF FICTION THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE ANY HISTORICAL ACCURACY so that bystandards like myself that hadn't read the book and knew little to nothing about it now say, "hmmm, look at all this controversy. I guess I better see the movie and/or read the book," and BAM! Another $50 million for Dan Brown. There is no other plausable explanation why so many people are saying so much shit about it. Honestly, does anyone else see how completely asinine this whole situation is? Or, in the words of that nutcase that came on campus and then condemmed us all to hell, am I just a crazy "pot smoking, pill-popping, pagan"?
