Darby Does That @ MindSay
R.I.P. Great Tunes
Well, Allison's iPod A.K.A Ipod Blanc has officially "died".
(I will reset the iPod and there is a picture of files that come up, like it can't find any files on the iPod)
This next time I am 1) going to buy a case 2) read the directions more carefully and 3) wish for the best. I am going to upgrade to a 60 GB video color screen....
Darby got her iPod on Ebay, and I did too (saved $50).
Also, maybe if anyone has any tips for iPod preservation...
·I promise to try not get water or chocolate on my iPod and I promise to try not to drop it. I promise to get a case, so if I do drop it (because I'm stumbling drunk down the street after only one drink), it won't get damaged.
·Also.. does anyone know if having your cell phone next to your iPod all the time can cause damage? I think it can. When my phone is by my radio it makes that buzzing noise. I previously liked to put my phone next to my iPod in my purse, and I wonder if that's what did the damage. I bought my iPod like late December 2004 and it started messing up 6 short months later: May 2005. It has been workable since then, but I find I have to constantly reset it, because it got stuck.
Well it has stopped becoming unstuck and officially died. It is still alive, so it seems, but I can't get it to the main menu where it will play music. I will assume it's dead. Or on the verge of going out completely. Which it may as well have, because no music is coming out. It also makes strange noises like it's trying hard to work, high pitched squeaky (Eraserhead baby) noises. I hear the wheels churning inside, yet it doesn't work.

Mmm.
This weekend was entirely too good.
Lots of Hamilton. Lots of inebriation. Lots of goodgoodgooood music. Lots of fun.
If you want to get the full effect, go here. Pictures are worth so much more than words.

Celebrities Only Bring Disappointment & Uncertainty
Mon: I think the idea of Brokeback Mountain is a joke. Gay cowboy movie. I was not going to see this. However, Mon. there was a showing where director Ang Lee was going to be present. Since he directed my favorite film, Sense & Sensibility, and since like 3 or 4 of my friends were going, and since it was nominated for Best Picture, I thought, I will go. Long story short, the tickets sold out right after I bought them, so most of my friends couldn't go except a friend of a friend who I had met once before. He was Chinese and was from the same town as Ang Lee and was VERY excited to see Ang Lee (not that I wasn't!).
It was so great that he went, because I get off work later now, and could not have staked out great seats, and he did. So, there was an announcement: Ang Lee got snowed in, in Connecticut and wouldn't be joining us!! It was like... sigh. I won't even say what I thought about the movie, because it didn't move me at all. However, Jake Gyllenhaal & Heath Ledger were there along with Michelle Williams, also the lady who co-wrote the script, the guy who wrote the score, and some other guy who didn't talk much. Jake Gyllenhaal liked his microphone and started to sing "Fever Night."
Tues: Saw Final Destination 3 with a friend. We laughed our asses off!
Wed.: Went to the "Leonardo DiCaprio" library, because the movie I wanted was at that location. I had tried going to this library before (built because of Leonardo D.'s "generous" donations-but not generous enough, because there isn't sufficient parking). So the last time, there was no room for parking so I just didn't go. Tonight I decided would be the night though. So as I walked in the movie section, it truly was the Leo Dicaprio library. They had The Beach and Marvin's Room. I didn't check for Titanic, but I'm sure they had all or most of his films and that Leo made sure that his $$ paid for his movies to be there. Funny how those films weren't checked out.
So I am not a celebrity, but I am going to write myself into this... before leaving work today, I was going to take my Chinese food home that I stashed in the fridge. But someone had stolen it! It turned out that someone had thrown it away (after some people and me investigated). Well, anyway, it was still in the bag wrapped so a girl suggested that I just take it out of the trash and eat it. But it was thrown in there, and the juices had seeped out of the side and got messy everywhere. So uh, I had gotten two orders... and there goes a waste of food. My supervisor said he'd buy me lunch to make up for it, but it's kind of rotten that someone threw away my Chinese food. SUCKS in fact!
Anyway, so to console myself, I got coffee afterwards, to go along with the Eric Rohmer movie I rented from the Leo Library. There was this chick I ran into on the way back to my car that was uh, kinda reminded me of someone. I thought at first that it might be someone I knew, then it occurred to me that she might be this actress, although she isn't well-known. I am still not sure. She was wearing boots, had on a skirt, and had long hair. I only glanced at her faced for a half-second realizing it wasn't my friend. But then I got to thinking? Was it a celebrity? Ah... who cares anyway. I mean, celebrities... are so overrated. Like darby says, "Being overrated is so overrated."
Oh BTW (I love blogs, because they don't have to make sense and you can state events out of order and it's ok)... Monday... yes, back to Monday, the Chinese friend I went with (with a very thick Chinese accent) and I went for a drink afterwards. His comments...
"Didn't you think that Heath Ledger was on drugs?"
"What!? He was acting weird?"
"Or maybe he was just drunk. He was talking strange."
"Ooohhhh! He's from Australia. It was probably his accent!!"

OMFG MY DAY TODAY.
I got pissed off, so I put my nosering back in.
I didn't bring home my Challenge homework. Oops.
(AMELIA IS IN MY CHALLENGE CLASS OMFG)
I'm going to be the Stage Manager for when my theatre class does The Laramia Project. It will be awesome.
Tomorrow, after school, I get to bring home set pieces to finish them this weekend.
And I got to play Capulet tonight during rehersals, ha! Mike had to leave halfway through, so I got up on stage with my script and was standing there, being pushed and pulled into the right spot, while reading his lines. It was fun. I was applauded. Especially when I tried to get up before the lights faded to black (yeah, he dies in our play). Whoo!
Sourkeys/Vermicious Knid tomorrow YAAAAY!!!
