Cute Shoes @ MindSay
Okay, so there were some things I didn't want to write about on my new blog. I will try not to write about those things. Here we go.
I am having the most boring day ever. This week my boss is on vacation and I am sitting in his office, alone, and bored, and sad, and going bugnuts from the lack of stimulation and human contact. This is not my idea of a good time. Two days left... two days left...
I just ate a personal pizza for a "snack". I think it qualifies as dinner. Which sucks because I will likely have a second dinner when I get to my stepmom's place (I'm going there for dinner). I joined a gym a month and a half ago, and I'm pretty faithful at going there and exercising, but I suck at the balanced eating bit of it. I need to be more disciplined.
I am so freaking bored... oh wait, we covered that already.
Last night I got in a big fight with my grandparents about air conditioning. It was 33 degress celcius outside and my grandparents didn't have the a/c on when I got home. So I flipped out. I think it was totally justified. I'm paying rent to live there and I deserve to be comfortable. And not using it when you have it is just insane.
In other news, I have a stress fracture in my left foot. It's not fun. I just got the results of the x-ray/bone scan back today, and that's what it said - stress fracture and tendonitis. Fabulous. The Dr. was talking about possibly putting me in an ankle boot, but I hate the idea of that. I told her that it seems to be getting better (after all, it did happen forever ago... I was just tardy in seeking treatment, and then the dr. misdiagnosed it as tissue swelling... long story), and that I can walk almost normally on it, it's not swollen anymore... so perhaps we could compromise on me wearing sensible shoes instead? Dr. pointed out that my shoes aren't the most practical choice for someone in my condition - I'm always wearing those damn cute little ballet flats that are so popular right now. heheh. So maybe it's time to break out the running shoes... blech. They're not cute!
I have been listening to two songs all day. The first is 'She Talks to Angels' by the Black Crows. If anyone can guess why I'm listening to this song this week especially, I'll give you a high five. The second song is Katie Melua's version of 'Just Like Heaven', which I heard in a video of a dog doing tricks that I watched on Facebook last night - I'll provide a link later. I loved the song so much that I downloaded it right away and put it on my iPod. So yeah, just those songs have been playing constantly... whenever another one starts up, I change it back. In that vein, is there a way to put an iPod song on repeat? :P
Well, this is long, so I'll leave it at that.
Lisa Simpson: [writing] Dear log, can it be true? Does every Simpson go through a process of dumbening? Hey, that's not how you spell 'dumbening'. Wait a minute⦠'dumbening' isn't even a word!

A store wants me to buy things and sometimes I want to buy things but most of the time I'm cheap and don't want to buy anything. I loathe shopping. I find no joy in it... unless I'm buying for others. Christmas shopping is very nice. I like that. Or book shopping. That's fun. Anyway...
I went to some stores last night and while picking up tissue for drippy noses and medicine for stuffed heads I saw some cute shoes. I perused the isles and started trying them on. When I could fit my boats into the cute shoes they were cramped. When I oggled the delicate arcs of the heeled shoes, tempted to try them on, they mocked me and wouldn't allow me to squeeze all of my foot in. Of only 4 pairs of shoes in my size, in the whole store, (that's a lot of commas and eliminating factors) only three I could barely fit. There was no way I would be able to walk around in them for any length of time. Blisters, corns, disfigurement, loss of circulation resulting in toes dropping off, gangrene, the ancient Japanese art of bound-feet anyone?
I turned to Huzband (the poor, bored dear) and sulkily said: "I feel like Cinderella's sisters."
Just like Drezelda or Anastasia or whatever her name was, I fully expected the shoe to sling-shot across the length of the store when my foot inevitably straightened despite the impossible u-shape.
Trying on a pair of cute tan pumps (low narrow heel, weaved-texture, tweedy) that I put aside for last because I wanted them to fit above all others (the superstitious side of me came out- good things come to those who wait- you know), it was the same tune different page. They fit nicely enough unless I wanted to stand. So unless I can hire or enslave some beefy men to carry me around day in and day out, the shoes were out of the question.
Me: I am a monster.
Huzband: What?!
Me: I don't need a costume. I will go as I am. A monster.
Huzband: Don't say that, you're not a monster.
Me: A large footed monstrosity, unable to wear cute shoes.
Huzband: ...
Me: (now mumbling incoherently) Roaming State St., Halloween night, 'Look! Look at my big feet! I am big foot!'
Huzband: [Exasperatedly says my name with a hint of censure.]

I went to the mall on Friday.
It was my mom, Lawrence, my grandma, Megan, Amber, CJ, and I.
CJ and I went off by ourselves and I tried on some dresses and stuff.
I found one after trying on about 7 or 8.
Relatively quick, if you ask me.
It's cute.
Simple.
A black dress, about knee length, with straps that are neat.
I'll post some pictures up after the dance.
The dance isn't for a few weeks, but oh well.
I found some shoes today to go with my dress.
At least I think they'll go with it.
I haven't checked for sure, but I think they'll go pretty good.
And they have like a 1 1/2 inch heel on them,
So I'm hoping CJ's shoes add a little height to him too.
My shoes look cute with jeans, too.
So that's a plus.
I worked today from 6-6. I work tomorrow from 6-6. I work Thursday from 6-6. Fuck me.
I bought the AAR cd today. It's good. I <3 them.
Josh, Brittany, Michael, Jill and I went to starbucks after I went shopping (actually I met them there), and then we rented Out Cold. That's a pretty effing hilarious movie, right there. Yep.
I bought these really cute shoes today, although when my friends saw them, they told me they were the ugliest fucking shoes they'd ever seen. I was crushed. I'll post a pic of them on here, if I can figure out how.
Michael drove his S2000. Holy tards. It's soooooooo pretttty :)
