Cross Stitching @ MindSay

folkdance and more

Just the usual subjects... On Saturday at 14.45 the bus left for Kokkola. We arrived sometime after 16. About 200 folkdancers were there. A long dinner followed. It was long, because they had some speech before the dessert. The food was okay. Almost 8.30 in the evening we had the dancing. The 7 districts performed a dance or two. After that the audience joined in (those who could and wanted) and they danced it again. Then the next district showed their dance and so on. At 10 pm we ate birthday cake (not so tasty) and coffee (not me of course). Our district showed our dance at 10.45 pm. Usually I am asleep that time, so I was tired. The bus came to pick us up at 00.45 am and I could hardly keep my eyes open until then. I was just so tired and I slept in the bus.  SmileyThe bus came back to Vasa a little after 2 am and I had to go home with the bike. I was finally home at 2.30 am and went straight to bed.

On Sunday was the San Marino GP in Formula 1, but I only watched half of the race. At that point it was so boring... It looked like Alonso would win again and Kimi Räikkönen's car was like a snail. So I took my bike and went to my sister's house where mum was already. She walked there before noon. In the end, Schumacher won before Alonso and Montoya. Kimi finished 5th with his snail car. Okay, but Alonso got more points than Kimi and that's not good. Nico finished 11th or 12th. It was not too good, but at least he finished the race. Hopefully it will be a better and more interesting race next weekend.

The spring was in the air this weekend. Smiley But today it's cloudy and not so warm. I miss the sun. There is still snow on the ground at some places, but a lot is gone already.

I think I should write a few letters today. The pile of letters are growing... But I also want to cross stitch Biscuit. The dog is ready and now I am stithcing the cirkle of small green leaves and pink flowers that is around him. Then I have lots of back stitching, but that's not so difficult.

I must go to the library today and return a couple of books. I also thought I would pay a couple of bills. It's easier to do it on the mashines in town than on my computer. Smiley¨

Better go now.

spring

Today it feels like spring in the air. The sun is shining (well, at least a little while ago) Smiley and it is pretty warm. I took my spring jacket today and dusted off the spring/summer shoes.

On the way to the university I went into the little store and bought a magazine about the Swedish king that turns 60 in a few weeks. Linda, don't tease me or laugh. You know that I love the Swedish Royal Family... Smiley It is 100 pages, filled with pictures from these 60 years. Very good.

I am eagerly waiting to get home so I can quickly go to the flea market (may be) and then continue with my cross stitching. At the moment I am stitching Popcorn's friend Biscuit (hope I spelled that correct). I did a lot on Biscuit yesterday and I so want to continue.

I am not sure if I will go to the flea market. I must see if I have some energy when I get home. Smiley

I am still coughing a lot. It really need to get better for Saturday when I have to dance and eat a fancy dinner. More about that subject on Monday.

Smiley for now!

vaccination and more

I just got back to the university after a little trip to the town. At 12.15 I had an appointment, becuase I had to take some vaccine. I found my health card in a box last week and according to that I should have taken the vaccine in 2003, so it was a bit late. But now I have it and it lasts for 10 years, so 2016 is the next time. Wow, that's a long time! I will be 34 then. But I hate doctors, dentists and the whole environment. I waited, waited and waited... for 35 minutes! Then finally it was my turn. Smiley

The sun is warm today. Smiley At least in some places it's warm. So it feels like the spring has finally started to come. There is still a lot of snow, but there is not much snow on the streets.

I don't have anything to cross stitch at the moment. Smiley When I get home I will look through my cross stitching magazines and see if I find something cute and small, because I must use my left over threads and I don't think I have much fabric either. May be I will make a book mark or something.

That's all for today. Bye! Smiley

movie

Okay, let's start with Saturday. I went to the town and ate a piece of birthday cake that the town sold. It was really good.

Then I and mum went with the bicykles to the flea market to empty my table. That was hard work. We came home with 5 plastic bags; mum had 3 on her bike and I had 2 on my bike. I was sweaty when I came home and the socks were wet too, because it was so much water and snow mud on the streets. Smiley

In the afternoon it was off to my brother's birthday party. He turned 26 years. My sister's family was there as well. We ate some birthday cake and I played a little with Wilma. Smiley

Yesterday (Sunday) it was raining. But in the evening I went to the cinema and watched Wallander-Mastermind. It was a good Swedish police story and a little scary too. Smiley We were 9 in total who saw the movie! Quite a lot, huh!? I don't know where the people were. Probably at home, watching TV.

I just remembered that I have to go to a folkdance practise with another team in Vasa tonight. Smiley I really don't feel like going, but they said everyone who is going to Kokkola on April 22nd or to Sweden in July should be there today. And I am going to Kokkola, so I must go.

Today I am going to write a few letters. But I want to continue with my Peaches bear too that I am cross stitching at the moment. I really enjoy stitching him and although I started yesterday I have already made a lot on him.

dentist

Okay, I just endured 40 minutes at the dentist. Smiley The only place worse than the dentist in this town is the hospital... But anyway, I made it through. Smiley Next time I need to go there is June 6th, so it's still several weeks.

I am selling stuff at the flea market this week. I went there yesterday and I noticed several things were missing, so that's good. Smiley I don't think I have time to go there today, because I have folkdance, but I think I will go there tomorrow again. It's always so messy on the table, because the people who look at the things don't bother to put them back properly. They just throw them back on the table and that's not good. I must go there and rearrange the things so that they can more easily see them.

I am so into cross stitching at the moment. Recently I finished a pretty big project and now I have done pretty much on a free Popcorn kit that I got when I bought a magazine. I can't wait to get home and continue with the cross stitching. Smiley

I don't think I have anything else to write about today, so I will end it here.
