Today's only really had two notable events.
I've spent today with Shelly - I seem to be spending Tuesdays and Wednesdays with her a lot recently. Ash still has her Saturdays - and I haven't seen Adam for a while now. :(

Event one:

I asked Shelly to attempt the band career with me on GH: Greatest Hits.
I wanted to see if we could improve on the four star scores that Ash and I had gotten before - only to load it up and find that a lot of them had already been improved - by Adam and I one of the last times he was round. I'd totally forgotten this.

There was one song that seemed reasonable though - Psychobilly Freakout.
And after a few attempts - we got the 5 stars, and Shelly cried because I told her that both Adam and Ash hadn't been able to get the 5 stars with me, and she had done. Was funny in its own way.

Event two:

We were both sat on my bed, on the PC, I think we were doing our farms on FarmVille - when the door, which was already slightly ajar, opened a bit further.
Shelly turns to me and says: "Why has a black and white cat just walked past on your landing?"
I was really shocked, and after she described the way the cat had walked - I showed her the photo on my wall under my CD rack of deceased Cleo - and we instantly realised that Shelly had seen Cleo's ghost.

Shelly told me that she often sees ghosts, even of people and animals she'd never met before. This got really creepy - even more so when we looked in mam's room. Cleo had walked across the landing, past my room and into my mam's - at the end of the bed, the sheets were ruffled and rumpled, and there was a cat-shaped indent there, as if a cat had been laid there. So fucking creepy.

So I guess this has sort of solved the mystery of why my bedroom door has been opening by itself a lot recently...

Analogue
Hello. My name is Ivette, but the moniker I would prefer to be referred to is Evey. This is going to be my daily blog. I'm probably going to post at the least 3x a week. But we'll speak more about that another time.

I live in the United States with my family. I live with four other people. I write, make art, photograph things. I like creepy things, but real gore scares me. I'm pretty open-minded to many things. Most of my friends revolve around the things I despise (drugs, sex, alcohol, etc.), but they're great people despite what I consider flaws. My creative expression is mainly what I care for in life. Without it, I'm good as dead.

Piercings, tattoos, body modifications, physical conditions, etc. = interesting as fuck. I'm going to be doing the same when I get old enough. I'm getting tons of piercings and some tattoos. I'm going to be corset training and seeing how small I can get my waist. And I'm a training contortionist (people with EXTREME flexibility due to joint-popping & loads of stretching). I like the weird looks from others and I adore the attention, whether bad or good.

I am straightedge (no promiscious sex, no illegal drugs/tobacco use, no alcohol). I find it pointless. I would prefer to give my virginity to someone I truly love instead of indulging my natural sex drive to a random person. I do not want to risk any bodily harm by using drugs/tobacco, plus I'm a penny pincher, so a little for that much money is a total NO! And I just don't like the idea of drinking yeast piss...oh, excuse me, flavoured yeast piss >_> I will talk to you if you do those things. Most of my best friends are druggies anyway XD

First impressions mean everything to me. Bad one, not much of a chance that I'm going to continue association with you. Good one, we could end up buddies ^^ & that's all I feel like telling about myself for now.

Anyway, back to the things that will fill these pages:

Car-ma

This is a tough blog to post — but I feel that it’s something that must be disclosed. I’m a bit ashamed that we actually did this, but also that this was something creepy which involved the whole family. This will probably lose us many cool points, and most likely many of you will be freaked out.

We have a car with a personalized license plate. We got it in 2003 when we got this specific vehicle; after all, in Virginia it really isn’t much more to get one of ‘em. And we decided on using a phrase that makes sense to us and our closes friends. People ask us about it often. But I think it’s pretty unique.

I’m not quite ready to disclose what phrase it is exactly. But for dramatization purposes — this is our car:

Our car - front license plate*

We had a wonderful weekend — with our first trip to Great Falls, VA this year. Great place to go, especially for the kid. Lots of waterfalls and rock climbing and hiking. And we ended the evening with a trip to one of our favorite locally-owned diners for a quick bite.

We’re making conversation on the way home when socKs  just gestures wildly towards the windshield. She’s too excited to speak. She just stammers a bit, waves her finger, and exclaims “Car!”

It took me a second, but I saw what she meant: in the next lane over and two car-lengths ahead, there was a car with a very similar license plate. I tried to get a picture with my phone, but I wasn’t able to.

And instinctively, safe ol’ friendly, non-threatening Shiny asks a question: “Should we follow it?”

I was kidding, of course. I mean, we were supposed to turn at the next light, and the car had moved into the right lane. At least I was hoping that the car would turn and we could get a closer view and a better picture of it. Alas, the car didn’t turn at the street which would lead us to our home.

So I didn’t turn. And didn’t get any argument from socKs. At that moment, I was officially stalking another person for the sole reason that s/he was driving a car with a similar license plate.

We saw the car turn into the supermarket parking lot at the next block. So we turned in there as well. We were going to head to the store the next day — to get ingredients to make hamentaschen. But we decided that we would go to the store right there and then instead. After all, we needed the ingredients anyway, right?

Oh, who am I kidding? We were following a complete stranger into a parking lot. That ain’t right.

I parked our car across from hers in what was (thankfully for her, I’m assuming she thought) a relatively crowded parking lot. I got out of the car and yelled an “Excuse me!” after her. She turned around as the rest of my family got out of our vehicle, hopefully making her feel less like I had duct tape and ether in my car. “I couldn’t help but notice your plates — so similar to ours — what do they mean?”

She saw our plates and smiled. She even let me take a picture of hers:

Complete stranger’s car whom we stalked - front license plate.*

“What does yours mean?” we asked. She told us it was “Talk Out” at one point. Like “Let’s talk it out.” But since she got the new plates with the pink breast cancer ribbon icon on them, she had to sacrifice a letter. Hence — “TAKOUT.” So similar to ours! We lied and marveled at the coincidence that both she and we were heading to the same store at the same time with such similar license plates! How utterly, utterly sad that this wasn’t the truth at all.

But it made us happy. We felt accomplished in our goal. We took a picture so our family and friends would be able to experience it as we did. It felt like something special, something unique. A feeling of bonding between two drivers, so different yet so alike.

socKs says we should untie her and let her out of our laundry room this week. We’ll see…

A Love Letter From a Star Wars Fan
Ever find something that seems too fantastic to possibly be true?  Maybe it's because I've never met someone that was really fanatical for Star Wars or Star Trek, but this seems to be just too much.  I'm going to vote in the "this isn't real" booth, but I still wanted to share because it's still pretty entertaining (and scary).  Enjoy.
