GOP did not record all votes at the convention
Read about how the GOP conveniently forgot to record votes for Ron Paul at the convention. The story is in the L.A. Times blog

Quick Post: A few pictures from San Japan 1.5 Anime Convention, San Antonio, TX.
Security Level: Low (Public / Everybody)

Yesterday, Cynthia and I went to San Antonio, TX for the San Japan 1.5 Anime Convention. I'd like to tell you guys more about it, but I have to leave for work in 15 minutes. So I'm just going to post a few pics real quick and I'll post some more later with more pics.

The Alamo (I'm on the left)

Spike and Faye (Cowboy Bebop cosplay)

Jet and Julia (Cowboy Bebop cosplay)

Who ever can guess who these two are, wins a prize!
(clue: Naruto and .hack cosplay)

That's all I have for now. I took lots of pics. It's a four hour drive from Houston to San Antonio but we were able to manage doing all this within 24 hours. I'll be back to post more pics tomorrow.

Note: The new few entries regarding the anime convention might be friends-only entries.

See Ya Space Cowboy!

Disturbing news from the Texas Republican Convention.

I got a report about the Texas Republican Convention last night from a few people who were there. The news was not good. I still had high hopes that the people who believe in following the Constitution(Ron Paul supporters) would make a good showing and have their voices heard.

Sadly, we have a lot of work still ahead of us. Dr. Paul was not even allowed to speak at the convention. People who tried to mention Dr. Paul were shouted down and had their mics cut off. The 17 year old son of our County Convention Chairman was "detained" or "removed" just for asking Governor Rick Perry a question about the Trans-Texas Corridor. He told Perry that I-69 would run through his parents' home. Apparently that qualifies as a terroristic threat.

The establishment has a firm hold on this party. I know that is not breaking news to you. We must continue to push harder at a local level. We must purge the party of all establishment types and neocon boot-lickers.

Dance with me on plastic tears...
I have been away for awhile now. I used to be such an internet junkie and now I barely check my emails. Sad in a way. Exciting in others.

One major happening in my life recently was going to MTAC.  http://mtac.net/   It was so much fun. My first ever anime convention. I went with four other people. Tak, Noah, Joe, and Mary. We all shared a room and randomly wandered around the convention together. Sad fact was that out of all 5 of us, no one remembered their camera. Genius. Apparently it was an extremely small convention though. We're planning on going to AWA in September. This one is freakin huge! Noah and I will be the newbies to AWA. Everyone else has been multiple times before. The dealer room alone is going to be about the size of a football field. :D I'm extremely excited.

Anywhoo! Look up The Birthday Massacre. They be wonderful. :) Have a good night everyone.

Exciting Results From My County Convention!

The Revolution made great strides today.

Earlier this week two meetings were held by some members of the Revolution. They came up with an agenda that was to be followed at the convention. We were going to try to put people in place so that we could send our delegates to the state convention. A chairman was selected that we would try to put in place of the current permanent chairman. I had never met the man since I was unable to attend the meetings, but I trusted my fellow members to make the correct choice.

The Revolution is so big here that it is hard to keep track of everyone. I am learning new names and seeing new faces all the time. I arrived at the convention about 45 minutes before the scheduled start. I immediately ran into a huge group of the Revolution. I was introduced to some members I had never met including the man who we were pushing for chairman.

I was handed a copy of the agenda and then we discussed what was going to take place. The most important business was to get our guy in place. If that failed then everything else was going to be pointless. I felt pretty good about our numbers. I was thinking that it was going to be about a 50/50 shot. I was wrong.

Once our guy was nominated, we voted to take a count by paper ballot. My precinct was allocated 8 votes. I was the only person to show up from my precinct so I got all of the votes. There were other people in the same situation. It was looking good so far.

A few minutes later all of the votes were counted. It turned out that our guy won by a landslide. The final count was about 170 to 80. Some of the establishment folks were visibly shaken and angry.

We were then able to put our people on the Nominations Committee and the Resolutions Committee. I was put on the Resolutions Committee. Unfortunately, we were short on time so we had to vote on the resolutions as an entire package instead of taking them individually or by groups. I didn't agree with some of the resolutions, but we had no time for debate.

There were some disagreements when it came to the list of state delegates and alternates. However, we able to get all of our delegates nominated either as actual delegates or alternates. I am an alternate. I really wanted to go the state convention, but since it starts on a Thursday it makes it a little difficult.

We pretty much accomplished everything that we wanted to do. The Revolution continues...
