Game 1 of the World Series is up & running. Phils leading 3-1 going into the 5th. Kazmir needs to settle down and stop worrying about baserunners. If he'd just make his pitch, there'd be no baserunners. Just to drive the point home - Rays in 6. I'm tired of the political mumbojumbo for now. Obama will win, We're fucked no matter what & I'll be looking for property way down Mexico way. So, I'll give it a rest right now and enjoy some baseball. Baseball fans are smarter than football fans ya know?

Been talking to my cousin in Mississippi. They evacuated on Sunday,August 31 2008. They live in Pass Christian, and my Aunt in Long Beach. Lynn said 13 feet of water in Pass Christian.They just finished their house after Katrina and losing everything in it. They did build up though! 18 feet in the air! Hope the surge is over. 5 more feet and it will be in their house. Right now just storage room on bottom level in water. House safe right now. Still has the door intact. Whew! They traveled 2 hours northward to escape. Haven't heard any news about Long Beach area where my Aunt bought a house. She still owns the concrete slab where her house was before Katrina. She did not rebuild in same place. Could stand in her driveway and see the Gulf. She lived Very close. Keeping my prayers flowing for them! Two pictures of my cousins house as being built........

There are nine historic lighthouses along Oregon’s coast and slowly we have been visiting each one and exploring the surrounding coast. Yesterday we went to Yaquina head and Yaquina Bay, near Newport ( where the aquarium is located) and had a splendid day. Low tide let us scramble all over the rocks and see sculpins, urchins, stars, anemones, lots of kelp, murres, puffins and tons of playful harbor seals. We brought lunch with us and stretched out on the warm basalt cobbles the wash up at the beach. It was a cloudless day, neither of us grumped at the other and it was great to get home before dark ( the sky is still light up here after 10) and play with the Abster before bed.
Yesterday the FFA granted provisional licences to two new clubs for the 2008/09 A-League season, provided that they can meet undisclosed requirements within 2 weeks.
YAY for new teams, new teams means a longer season, which means MORE FOOTBALL! Also because one of the teams is from the Gold Coast I can now go to some of thier games to get another hit of the football drug.
