Communication & Power Industries, Inc., Palo Alto, Calif., is being awarded a $12,757,800 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for major repair/remanufacture of Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs) and new TWTs for the AN/SLQ-32 Electronic Countermeasures System. The AN/SLQ-32 Electronic Countermeasures System performs deception jamming of missile seekers and noise jamming of targeting radars. It can track multiple emitters and provides ship protection from radar-directed anti-ship missiles as well as confusing targeting radars on hostile platforms. The TWTs are integral parts of the jammer. Work will be performed in Palo Alto, Calif., and work is expected to be completed by May 2013. MFTA is the next generation passive and active sonar receiver. I found out yesterday that longtime Pere Ubu and Home And Garden guitarist Jim Jones
died at home on Monday, February 18, 2008.
I never knew him, but I saw him play live, not just with Pere Ubu but also with Home And
Garden, and as a guest guitarist with the Peter Blegvad Trio when they played a club in
Lakewood, OH several years ago.
I emailed him afterwards and he responded right away and talked as if we had known
each other for years. He was a sweetheart of a guy, and I'll miss him.

Big Chuck and Little John's corny skits were legendary, and Chuck Schodowski even won an local Emmy Award for one of their skits several years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting him and getting his autograph a couple of years ago, and he was a sweetheart of a guy.
Good luck, "Big Chuck"--I hope you enjoy your retirement. You've certainly worked hard for it! You and Little John's weekly antics will be sorely missed.
one of my favorite blog reads is a fashion editor who -yesterday- i discovered is the niece of a woman with whom's husband i had an affair. I never met the woman , just heard alot about her and this blogger too. but i never knew her name. I was reading said blog where i came upon a wedding family shot and there was that same said man, albeit 30 pounds heavier and smiling. the last time i saw him was when I was throwing condoms across the room to him and screaming: "you might need this if your wife ever decides to fuck you again."
not a shining moment in my life i will admit but a very interesting and dramatic one. we were at gliddon house in cleveland, having visited the museum there and he had gotten me a big tome on seurat which i later exchanged for a volume on manet - the book exchange being a meta marker for all that was wrong with the relationship. i - he - we were wildly smitten- he was also an INTP and we alternately drove each other good crazy and bad nuts. for the longest time i kept his letters and pictures and dried flowers and an empty bottle of the cologne he wore ( thrown in the back of the attic wrapped in black plastic and labeled "BAD TIMES" but then i saw the light of dysfunctional covetous love and destroyed them all in a very dramatic ceremony which i am prone to maybe once a decade. In short.... this bloggers world is small and getting smaller all the time. oh my husband knows about this and forgave me.
On recent Spanish quizzes I got 90 and 95. The Earth Science test was 82, and the math test was 88.
