First of all I'd like to thank EVERYBODY for wishing me a happy birthday. You guys are the best and I really mean that! I was never one of those women who pouted every time a birthday came up because it means they're getting older. I always looked at it as it being a blessing that God has given me another year of life. Who can feel bad about that? Besides, I look damn good for my age! :D
I'm a little worn out from yesterday's Ren Fest activities to write a real post, but we had a great time. Even though it wasn't the big Mindsay meet up we wanted to have, it was still nice to see
Callmeroger and his lady love
Uyoku. It was her birthday yesterday and Roger bought her a huge margarita to celebrate it -- he also bought her other things. It's cute to see him spoil her! :P
Anyway, I'm just going to post a few pics of our costumes and some glamour shots. I'll post more later, probably in movie form because I took a lot of pictures!
Me as the queen of the Nile! This is actually an old costume that I altered.
Torridgirl made my cape and she did a fantastic job. I got a LOT of attention yesterday, a few actors at the Ren Fest actually bowed to me! I think the cape made all the difference. After all, who can resist gold lamé? When she finished the cape and belt there was about 2 1/2 yards of fabric left. I let her have it because I know she'd be able to make something awesome with it.
Other alterations that were made were, a key hole to expose more cleavage, a wider, gold lamé belt and a head dress. Here is a picture of what the costume looked like before the alterations:
Toga! Toga! I loved the togas
Environgirl and
Torridgirl wore! In my humble opinion, they had the best togas there. They were asked to enter the toga contest, but they didn't. I think we didn't get to the destination in time.
I caught Egirl doing this expression because she was posing for another person's camera. I told her, "don't move!" and got the perfect shot.
Torridgirl saw this setting and thought it would be perfect for a glamour shot in my costume. It looks very Egyptian I must say. This is supposed to be my come hither look. I don't think it really says "come hither" as much as it says "are you done yet?" I guess I'll have to work on it.
Torridgirl was just sitting on this bench waiting for my head to stop spinning. I was a bit light headed because the day before I think I had a mild case of food poisoning. I may have had some bad fried rice. Anyway, I saw her sitting there and the lighting was perfect. I told her to smile and I snapped this picture. She looks so good in red!
I'll post more later!
