Beauty a BMW e30 series The car that started my love for this Barvarian Motor...
This is the car that got me hooked on the BMWs. Such a beauty. Wow. Classic lines.
Granted it's an inline 4, but makes plenty of power, and since it's from the 80s it's not weighted down by all the "safety" equitpment like our new ones.
How many airbags do we really Need?

Tink @ the Magnolia Car Show

This is the Magnolia Classic Car Show. Although I'm not sure why they call it a 'classic' car show since there were other cars and motorcycles too. The vid clip is short cause my batteries gave out. It is Tink's first time out in this kind of public venue. I am very pleased by her behavior. The loud pipes would scare her a little when they racked them but she did really well.

Just as a little fyi thing... My sister has the turqouise 1960 Imapala you'll see here.. She just bought it and hasn't done anything to it yet. It is in completely oringinal state. Her husband wants her to paint it black with the glitter. I voted to leave it that beautiful color.

My bro-in-law entered his '67 Nova and took 2nd place in Performance. It is the bright burnt orange one you'll see by the turquoise Imapala.

new year... new blog

as my movie quiz blog never really took off I am going to switch formats and discuss vintage films that most of you hav enever heard of and maybe should seriously consider renting. I wil discuss the film, why it's worth seeing and I will work really hard not to reveal the plot. Obviously I am doing to show all  my biases- like my love of film noir and great montage and long long slow pans and my dislike for vapid special effects, certain "stars " who pretend to be actors. Some movies I have never seen and never will despite most everyone I know telling me to see them. Movies like Shrek and the Tolhien and Harry Potter.

But I will strongly recommend anything made by John Ford or Cukor or Hawks or the master himself Hitchcock. and I will  even reveal my love of foreign films- I had a friend once who wouldn't go to a subtitle film because she liked to close her eyes in the movies. duh... I never understood that.

Mike Nichols said the movies are like a dream- all interior and subjective with the abilioty to jump around in time and space. so let me go on record as saying that while I adore Little Women and It's a Wonderful Life .... My favorite movies of the decade have been The Eternal Sunshone of the Spotless Mind, I Heart Huckabees and Pan's Labrynth. so we are off and running. Brava. and feel free to pipe in.

Cultural Bliss
No commentary needed other than to say that this clip is proof that American cultural perfection was achieved in 1979. It's been downhill ever since.
