Thou doth protest too much?

In defense of misterskank, non believers protest vehemently because Christians try to rule the world not just their own lives.
They try to infiltrate the government and do away with part of the constitution (separation of Church and state), and they wish to deny human rights to certain individuals. They speak words of the love of Jesus from one side of their mouth and spew hate from the other. They knock on your doors and tell you that their loving god will roast you in hell for eternity if you don't conform to their ways. The scare little children with talk of gods wrath.
They invade countries and shove their propaganda down the throats of starving people who must endure their relentless preaching if they hope to receive food or assistance. They feed  the overwhelming superstition of third war peoples by leading them to believe their plight and starvation is due to the belief in false gods. They control by religious fear tactics not by truth. The list goes on and on and on..
Someone has to expose this religion of hatred for what it is. I applaud misterskank and others for standing up to this and calling it like it is.. rubbish.

The stupidest thing about Christianity
The tenet of Christianity it this-
You must believe in Jesus. You must believe he died on the cross for your sins and accept that sacrifice.
But, what if you don't believe? What if everything in you tells you it's a lie? Can you force yourself to believe?
The answer to that is a resounding NO!
I was a Christian from the time I was a child because it was what I was taught as a child. I was even in the ministry. But , once I began to educate myself about the bible, it's origins, history, pagan religions there was no way I could believe.
But I hated losing my faith. All my friends were Christian and I didn't want to lose them too. So for nine years I tried to convince myself, that despite my mountain of doubt that it was true.
I prayed like a mad woman and studied the bible continually. And everyday ,the bible it's self convinced me more and more it was not true.
A person can not make themselves believe and no one else can make them believe either. Belief is not a choice. You either do or don't.To say you choose to believe is ludicrous.
But Christians say if you don't believe, you will burn in hell for eternity because you were unable to make yourself believe...even if you wanted to, tried too, but couldn't!
Is this what a just God would require? That you must force yourself to believe when it can't be done?
You can say I love Jesus I believe in Jesus all day long for forever but if you don't you just don't.
Only a face to face meeting with "God" could change my mind now, I simply I know too much.
And remember this oh "Christian nation", there was a time when most everyone believed the world was flat but there was one man who dared to dream otherwise and in the end , he was right!

To all whom are christian
You may want to watch this.

Don't discount it when you hear what church this guy is from because he has something important for all of us to hear.
I mean it.
If you have had any sort of respect for me or my opinion I would ask you to watch this.
I have yet to hear someone speak on this subject so forcefully in this day and age.
This means all my pastors and people I have heard speak save for one who is now serving God in the deep south or in another country (I don't quite know where they are).

If you choose to flame me for posting this video then that's your problem.

Crypto Christians and Carnivals
I was reading a blog today that covers all kinds of news. Chris Abraham is the author and he has lots of interesting articles to please a wide spectrum of readers. One article that caught my eye was about crypto-christians. He didn't say much, but what he said was enough for me to want to find out more. Adopting the world's ways and finding every loophole so that we can fit in seems to be the norm. You can't tell many Christians from others in this day and age. I am glad that Chris brought the article to my attention. My impression of Chris is that he doesn't like to beat around the bush. He is smart, concise, and worth reading.

Speaking of Christians, there is a blog carnival that has just been released by my friend Cass. Check out the Carnvial of the Redeemed. When she told me about it, I immediately thought of you folks here. I know some of you might want to get in on the Carnival.

Recapping the Score for the Inauguration Prayers
I just thought this was funny.

Recapping the Score for the Inauguration Prayers
Posted in General at 4:00 pm by Hemant Mehta

Gays are mad that anti-gay Rick Warren is delivering a prayer at Barack Obama’s Inauguration.

Gays are happy that gay bishop Gene Robinson was invited to deliver a prayer separate from the Inauguration.

Conservative Christians are mad that Obama invited Robinson to deliver a prayer.

Rick Warren is happy that Obama invited Robinson to deliver a prayer.

Conservative Christians are mad that Warren is happy about Robinson.

Reporters are mad that Rick Warren can be against gay relations and happy about Robinson.

Atheists are mad that there is prayer at all in the Inauguration.

*phew*

Am I missing anything else?
