For ten days straight in July in 2005 I taught at an English camp for teenagers near Chengdu, Sichuan, China. I became friends with maybe a couple hundred preteen and teenage students at the camp. Then, after the camp was over, I stayed on in Chengdu for a couple of weeks or more. It is possible that I knew some of the people now suffering, injured or dead as a result of the massive destruction from the earthquake.
I do not know what to do from here in Qingdao on the coast of China.
