Charcoal @ MindSay
So, just to keep you in the loop (whoever you are), I've been taking a Drawing class at the Met (my favorite place in the whole world... you'll get sick of me saying that trust me) and I've been quite busy with my Script Analysis class as well (main reason why I haven't posted in a while). Mind you, I'm not very good at drawing the human figure and well I tend to lose my patience a lot when I draw anything because I can never get it to look like how I pictured it in my head. But this class has helped me a lot in both respects (patience and getting images out of my head and onto paper that is). Here are a few samples:

I gave it another 5 minutes --originally the name of this was "Thanx"
I think I may just call it Najila.
This is stage two --tomorrow I'll add the bright fushia and purple glow.
This is Sunny who left us not too long ago. Stage 1 WIP. He is with a Goddess :-)
Tomorrow I may go visiting in the old hood; something I haven't done in a while. I've got a few quick errands to run and so forth. I'm trying to hold tight to this so called relaxation and I'm hoping my toothache will be gone by next weekend at work. My eye is raw from tearing 24/7 since the last onset of tooth pain. I keep saying mind over matter, but I mind, and it is starting to matter to an extreme. When it's a toothache, that is the main thing going on in your life. It's one pain that is hard to block out. I'm trying though as an oral surgeon is out until next year. Dr tichenor, peroxide, ibuprofen, and naproxen sodium are my best chums right now. I've unsuccessfully, already attempted the home surgery thing.
Saturday 8/13/05:
I woke up at 10 this morning, and it took me a few minutes to figure out where I was. This because I spent the night at a friend's house. The rest of my family is in Mendocino this weekend because of my sister's soccer torunament, but I stayed home because I had to work. I have not eaten a single meal at this friend's house, and I left ten minutes after waking up to go back to my house. My parents are fine with trhis, they just don't want me sleeping at my house. Huh?
Anyways, I got home and immediately left to go to Aaron Brothers. I've been telling my mom that i've been working on a piece of art for her since Christmas, and since her birthday is in two days, I figured, I'll try and crank it out. Note: I just started today. Anyways, I had to buy Workable Fixatif since it was going to be a charcoal drawing (the fastest kind), but I ended up buying some willow charcoal sticks and a kneaded eraser as well. I think I'm going to charge my dad for the supplies.
When I got back home I found an image online (see it here) and immediately got to work. I worked for about wo hours, and I would say I'm about a quarter done with the piece. Meaning I have to haul ass tomorrow. I stopped at around three though to get ready for work.
I worked from 4 until 11 today; the first time I've ever closed the shop. It was a frickin' long shift; good thing I was able to walk to Subway on my dinner break. I made up this awesome new drink today where I blended a peanut butter stack ( a snack thing) into a Mocha Frappuccino. It tasted superb, and alsmot like a Reese's. I wouldn't advise drinking too much of one though, I guess it was real rich or something because I felt sick for about half an hour.
I'm proud to say I can now do whipped cream like a professional amateur, as opposed to an idiot. However, I've found a new thing to hate. Well, it's a love/hate relationship. There are these day-glo green gloves we keep in back for washing dishes and stuff, and I can't decide whether I love them or hate them. They're super cool looking and it's awesome to wear them, but they are practically impossible to get on and off. I think if I could just have them appear on me it'd be perfect. Sorta like how the Power Rangers had "Morphin' Time", I could have "Washin' Time."
Me and Kelly (Kelley?), my shift supervisor, talked a lot tonight as it was just her, Scott and I closing the place, and she's pretty cool. We talked about books and school a lot, and she recognised my Harry Potter July 16, 2005 bracelet without me having to say a word.
Sunday 8/14/05:
I watched bad TV from about 11:30 to 1:45 as the friend who's house I'm staying at was on the computer in the guest room, which is where I happen to be sleeping. Now, I'm not upset about sleep, as obviously I am still awake, but I was kinda upset he was on the computer so long. I'm an addict, oh well.
Anyways, I watched thing slike "Just Shoot Me", "Married... With Children", and Local Programming. Augghhh. I wanted to die.

Current Music: I can't think of a single song worthy of Current Music right now... Suggestions?
I grilled some salmon for dinner. I also grilled some hot dogs just because. I had to give Mattie a hot dog once it cooled off. That is going to be my "tradition", giving Mattie a hot dog when I grill out. She gets so excited when I grill. Now I need to go to the grocery store and get some more dogs. Ballpark franks rule.
