Cellphones @ MindSay

My contract with sprint is up in November (I know, a ways yet, but I figure now is the time to start looking out for a new plan), and I"m pretty much fed up with them. 

 

I'm just wondering what everyone else is using for their cell phone providers, and what they think of them.

 

What are some of the pros and cons???  What is your coverage like (outside of your home state)???  What are the costs associated with what your plan includes?

 

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!  I need all I can get.  lol.  All opinions are appreciated!

 

we have been bleeding money since we retired and have ben fixing up the house. The reason we did so much so fat was that in other houses we took our good time  about doing some special things and then maybe a year after getting myy dream kitchen we found we were selling and someone else was going to get the deacdes of fun my nnew kitchen could have given me.

 

And being older I wasn't sure we wanted to be painting room and doing carpentry work as senior citizens. and I wanted to enjoy this house ASAP because I could get run over tomorrow and would have missed those soapstone counters or warm ttles and bidet. but it has been expensive and while we are nt poverty stricken by anymeans we eant our investments to last and let us live the comfy lifestyle we got oh too accustomed to.

 

 this weekend we had one of those money budget meetings where we look at the hemorrhage spots to see where we  ned to live less insanely.

 

Joint areas were cable TV- we rarely watch anything live other anymore, once deadwood and sopranos ended that ended our live TV time. And cell phone contracts. SO Jim took on the cable tv people to change our contract ad  I called T Mobile. Right now we are paying 54 a month for two phone with gazillions of minutes we never use. Jim used one minute last month and I used 47 minutes, only because I happened to have them.

 

I called T-Mobile to change to a prepaid pplan. what a laugh. each  phone would incur a $200 early termination fee. that's almost all of a years fees. so when i acted like I might just cancel the service altogether and let them try to collect the money- hinted at sweetly and absentmindedly as only a belle can do- well,  he suddenly came up with the special  outdated plan only available to long time T mobile users of $19. a month for each phone and then in July 2008 I could change to prepaid plans with no penalty. Isn't that amazing how he found that plan?  

 

My personal bleeds were  in my purchasing of fiber, dyes, yarn and cloth- I have been essentially out of control and spending hundreds every month on these hobbies. I need to stop that and start using up my cache or finish the dozens of uncompleted projects that fill drawers in my studio. Shoes were a little out of control but I was switchig to a new climate with new foot demands and needed some new warmer clothing afte rmore than a decade in the deep south. DVD's and CD's I was exceptionally good and only moderately bad about book.

 

Every penny we save means that working part time for either of us doesn't have to becoe a need because we both adore making our own time. I could work part time in the afternoons but getting up and being somewhere everyday at 8 am would be hellishly hellish hell.

 

It's economy time.

I miss my celly! Seriously, today I could have used it. We were driving around for 15 minutes trying to find the site for the ceremony. We drove past it 3 times and never even really knew. Cell phones are so important in situations like that. I went to find a pay phone and the only one in the area was totally broken!! BROKEN!!! UGH. So I was stuck in the middle of practically nowhere with prayer as my only hope of contacting someone. Thank God He answers quickly and my sister came, but if it hadn't have been that way, a cell surely would have come in handy.

I have been looking around for a new plan for a while, and even a new phone cuz there are so many neat ones out now, like this one. I don't normally go for pink, but hot pink is almost red so it fits. Then there are the costs of the plans. I am truly interested in getting a plan with less than 1000 minutes. I never use that many. I wouldn't mind a plan with 600 minutes like this one. It's a shame I don't live in the UK cuz then I could get a free phone with 6 months free service out of an 18 month plan. Talk about cheap! Then to top it off, they have a clearance section?! I'm so jealous right now.

   I told you stuff about a long yawnful four-hour speech and stuff, right? *cellphone rings* Oh boy, this person's text-happy today... (texts her classmate to stop texting)I hope that'll stop him. *phone rings again* Oh boy! I'll just ignore him. *turns up the volume of the song* YOU REALLY WON'T STOP?!? *uses headphones, but phone rings again* Grrr... *turns phone off* Whew...

 

   Anyway, yesterday started off normally... One of my classmates asking Kurin for yet another choco bar, Kurin trying to give me one too (which I refused, of course), one of my other classmates bought a guitar and promptly got scolded by our teacher, our two teachers saying we had to report, and me wanting to send a hate-mail to the creator of Gokusen since Sawada and Yankumi aren't together... (Which is one of the reasons this strange classmate of mine was texting me like... about, 10 times.)

 

   Ok, now where was I? Yes, the long yawnful speech about stuff like uniforms, minor and major offenses, lockers and all that. It was very, very hot, mind you. The covered court was a bit cramped, with all the guys and gals from grade 4 to high school all there. But let's set that aside...

Ok it's not often I bitch out about having a bad day but Gods alive today has been a crappy day.  I woke up late for signing, so thought right check my cell phone voicemails, I couldn't my cellphone was barred. Ok thinks me lets see what's happening by checking in on it via the net.  Ping sorry your broadband has been barred.  Aaarggghh so I ring my suppliers.  Surprise surprise I could actually phone them from my home phone!  They tell me the bank put a freeze on them.  So I ring the bank they explain that there has been an error but it is now rectified.  I tell them that therefore they can sort out the payment, with a few clicks I have cellphone service again but they can't do my Internet.

So after maybe 15 calls to them and 10 calls to my bank later 2 wrong sort codes for the bank and a load of Pakistani idiots I get through to a guy called Hamish a Scotsman on a back packing tour of Pakistan, who informs me that now it is set it will take up to 24 hours to lift the bar.  I tell him that's not good enough so he says he will try and put it in in 12 for me but no promises.

So I currently am using a cellular card to connect to the net via GPRS it's the first time I have used it and well am quite impressed.  I'll be using it more often probably once I am working and travelling some.  Oh Oh that reminds me I got put forward by an agency for a job today, whilst I am not overly optimistic about but it is a good job.  It's working for the Insolvency Department, the pay is over $20 an hour :O so here's hoping I will get it.  In the meantime job search is on hold until tomorrow when the net comes back.  For now though take care everyone
