Ce @ MindSay
I always loved that history was devided essentialy into pre-Christ and post Christ time it seemed so fitting. Everyone has a life deviding moment. Some event or other that split your life in two A: Life before event and B: Life after event. Hahah historys deviding moment was Christ.
... back to that paper I supose...
{please don't comment that it's not exactly to his birth or death/resurection as though Christ were born at year 1 AD or he died and rose again in the year 1 AD. I know the 1 mark is probably somewhere in his late 20's-ish}
In my rush to finish things for end of the month- namely work and Mindmeld Project- I completely forgot it was the end of the month. Yes, yes, I know I'm stupid sometimes. Only the truly stupid can forget the very thing they are constantly remembering. It's a talent.
Here it is, September, and I ground-thrummingly forgot about creating a new header/theme and typing up August's movie list. Luckily, I have that list right beside little-ol', anal-retentive me. [Edited Update: I forgot I had been "doodling" with a header earlier this month, so I'm using it for August. I may play with is as we go along... adding text or other elements. Even if it stays untouched I'll be pleased, because I love summer skies. Good bye 70's Orange Lines.]
Movies (and a television series) I have seen in August: (italics mean I've seen it before)
- Scream 3 - A fine conclusion to the trilogy. And by fine I don't mean "detailed"... I mean "alright".
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake) - I honestly love this one and despise the first one.
- Chasing Amy - For some reason, this viewing left me cold. I couldn't stand the characters... well, except for Jay and Silent Bob.
- V for Vendetta - Surreal and comic-book awesome.
- Match Point - A beautifully executed movie that you don't want to waste your time on.
- Good Night and Good Luck - This movie is a must, if for no other reason than the history. Funny, sad and meaningful. The type of meaningful that each person
- Pulse - *shrugs* I liked some of the ideas behind what was going on but overall, "meh".
- Snakes on a Plane - The internet phenom that I was happily on board for- the movie being the exclamation point.
- Dead & Breakfast - Funny little horror-comedy. Not Shawn of the Dead caliber, though still good.
- Public Access - Terrible movie. No redeeming value. Everything was off kilter, like the idea behind the script was polluted by the directing and the actors rode rough shod over the lines. Potential? Yes. Disappointment? Yes.
- Veronica Mars, Season 2 - *happy sigh* I enjoy this shows wit, dialogue, characters, friendships, relationships, actors, directing. Even the music.
- Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy - I was very excited to watch this show, an inside look at the porn industry via the life of one of the most well-known performers. Besides some slightly titillating moments this movie was flaccid.
You got through my list. You get a reward. (Awe-inspiring.)
And because I'm very generous and feel like regifting, below you will see the three week absent Creativity Exchange. TheRacket is the birther of the words. Immaculate conception, don'cha know. And he spread the seed of thought to me so I could create the image. (Eww... TheRacket is (like) my Creativity Brother. That makes my whole analogy wrong. Just wrong.)
You can see the other half (a non-identical twin, if you will) of Creativity Exchange over at his journal.
Words are TheRacket's, image by me:
[fowl thoughts]
what
do you
think about when
you are eating birdseed?
the bluejay asked the cardinal
is it about the fine nuts
just beyond those crunchy hulls of darkness?
or the varied flavortextures dancing about your beak?
perhaps you reflect upon one your Uncle Charlie's jokes
or that foul bird who frightened you from your perch
on that extra fancy feeder just up Maxwell Street?
what do you think about? he asked again
tilting his blue head to one side
waiting for the redbird to respond
but the cardinal kept pecking
away at his meal
until at last
he said
nothing

Lastly, WTF Radio is happy to welcome back Shiny and SocKs. Shiny has picked out a wonderful Preshow as AAP will not be on tonight. WTF Radio is broadcast live on Fridays, 9PM (Central). Questions of the Week still need to be answered and Rematch of Vs. rematched.
Oh my. A dream of mine has come true. Sound the wind chimes; the sounds of angels. Allow me to share: AllAroundPsycho and Byzantium have decided to pair up and create their own set of Creativity Exchanges. Neat, huh? I thought so. Here is the half showcased at AAP's place and here is the half Byzantium is hosting.
In case you're worried that TheRacket and I have not posted this Friday, to let the spotlight shine down upon AAP and Byzantium, no worries. We didn't all of a sudden grow noble or anything. Well, at least I didn't.
Check out TheRacket's half over here. Dangit. He's talented. Below, you'll see my hosted half. The words are TheRacket's and the image is mine.

open sky sighs stars
About Creativity Exchange
TheRacket had a brilliant (and fun) idea. He asked me if I would be interesting in a Creativity Exchange (those are my capitalization, hence, I'm naming it. So, there). It's almost like a short game of tag; he will write or I will draw and we would exchange what we created to the other. There are no hard and fast rules; one person creates something and the other collaborates. He could sketch and I could write, I could take a picture and he write a haiku, he could write a ballad and I illustrate a passage... we're making it up as we go along. The best kind of game, really.
Creativity Exchange Timeline
- Monday &/or Tuesday we work on creating something for the other.
- Wednesday we exchange the pieces secretly.
- Thursday we work on our responding pieces.
- Friday we display them.
Layer Cake Exchange Timeline
Similar to the above exchange, this one adds one more step.
- Monday we secretly exchange our first pieces (Part I) so that only the other can see.
- Wednesday we secretly reveal our responses (Part II), which are responding to the other's Part I.
- We each prepare a response that ties in with the respective Part II, trying to forget about our own original piece that inspired it.
- Friday we publicly reveal our responses to Part II thereby creating a Part III.
- The end product is two separate exchanges, using an original work to inspire a response. Then that response inspires a following response. Techinically, this type of creativity exchange could go on for a long time.

I wish I got paid a little more then what I am now, so then I wouldn't have to work so much.
