Zakari in the cooler

Aziz Zakari of Ghana in Stockholm 2005The IAAF has banned the Ghanaian male athlete, Aziz Zakari for two years.

Zakari was provisionally suspended by the athletics governing body on July 11, 2006 following an adverse analytical finding for the prohibited substance, Stanozolol (S1. Anabolic Agents) in his system after a routine doping test.

The test was conducted In-Competition (IC) on April 29, 2006 at the IAAF Grand Prix Meeting in Dakar, Senegal. IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said that analysis of Zakari's backup "B" sample confirmed the original positive finding.

Under IAAF rules the minimum sanction for a first violation for Stanozolol is ineligibility for 2 years.

Zakari has a career best time of 9.99 seconds in the 100 metres.

And now for something completely different

Right then, apolagies for my absence recently this was ultimately first down to this:

To further celebrate Earth Day, Brian forgot to re-register the domain name for mindsay.com. Thus, you may occassionally see a "domain expired" page when browsing the site over the next 24-48 hours. Rest assured all is well and someone will be fired over this!

Which caused me to lose my immediate desire to blog and then the past couple of days the site doesn't seem to be quite as stable as normal and so I've never quite been able to write anything. But it looks like all that has passed and I can resume normal practice.

Career Aptitude Test

The other day when I was in the library the server was down and I needed a way to kill time so I found myself entering all the icon screens that I could and found a rather good one called "Kudos", which is a career aptitude test aimed at High School children. Well, not to be discouraged by this I took it and these are my top ten results.

10)Dentist

9)Patent Attorney

8)Optometrist

7)Biochemist

6)Pharmacologist

5)Biomedical Scientist

4)Nuclear Engineer

3)Medical Physicist

2)Biomedical Engineer

And the number one career path that I am suited for is...

1) Forensic Scientist

Wow!!!

Can't be to bad a test if it came up with that for me?

RTA

On Monday morning walking to get my lift back home I was witness to a road traffic accident (RTA) outside the Boots in town. A man was reverse bay parking and did not have his head rotated around his seat watching the kerb, whilst a pedestrian walked out behind him without checking what was going on around him and proceeded to be hit back onto the kerb. The driver continued oblivious of what had just occured until he exited his car and from what I could make out did not seem to paniced by this at all. The pedestrain appeared alright, fortunately the car was moving at a slow speed. Never the less had he not been knocked back onto the pavement he most likely would have his legs crushed by the stupidity and arrogance of the driver. However, I wonder who is actually at fault as both parties did not attempt to assess their immediate environments.

My Job

Finally a quick up-date on my morning job yet again. My boss was in today and I have been given an ultimatum of till the end of next week to complete what he wants or I'm out! I'm not to worried as I don't see the point. I've done my best. And if that isn't good enough then so be it. Though I would miss the money obviously and it will be needed when I move south in September, so I shall be putting in the required work to try and get it to the expected standard and hopefully keep my job. Though one thing I have come to realise that you can never win in a cleaning job regardless of how hard you work or how good the quality  of the finish actually is. Mind, I won't miss the early starts if I do go. Speaking of which my lack of sleep seems to have been what was causing my high blood pressure (166/70) and now since I've been sleeping during the afternoon I've been feeling much better for it.

On the car stereo at the moment,

Layla

by Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon

What'll you do when you get lonely
And nobody's waiting by your side?
You've been running and hiding much too long.
You know it's just your foolish pride.

Layla, you've got me on my knees.
Layla, I'm begging, darling please.
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.

Chorus

Let's make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane.
Please don't say we'll never find a way
And tell me all my love's in vain.

Chorus

Chorus

And if you've got it this far, you might want to do this little fill out the blanks,
