My Life - Driving Miss Crazy

On my list of "stupid thing I've seen people do" this one has to rate up high. this is a true story from this week just passed.

I was driving home from work at about 8 a.m. (I work the first watch), the traffic was peak-hour so it was continuous and stop-start.

As I neared my home, I happened to glance across the traffic to a car that was approaching me a little too quickly. I looked at the driver and was stunned to see that the driver was involved in the delicate art of putting on mascara WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING!

The two things that bothered me about this were:

 a) that she was driving with one hand on the wheel, holding her compact mirror, while delicately applying the gunk to her eyes with the other hand. God forbid a small bump in the road (like the bump one might feel driving over someone's unfortunate 5 year old.) might push the stick into her eye and cause her to panic and scream in pain.

b) that she was looking into a small mirror balanced on the steering wheel, focusing her vision directly onto that small area making her able to see the road and the traffic around her, only peripherally.

It's okay though, she looked up every few seconds to make sure no small children had run out in front of her moving vehicle. She was actually driving like that!

Please don't any of you reply that you have done this, I will be forced to block you forever.

Car accident
Getting in a car accident yesterday was the cherry on top of the cake.  I am fine, but my car isn't.  My mother's neighbor pulled out of her driveway too fast and slammed into the side of my car.  Of course I beeped and even swerved to the other side of the road but she still hit me.  She has an SUV, so of course she had no damages.  Right now I can't even drive my car.  Hopefully insurance will cover the damanges and my car will come back looking better than before.  It really has been a stressful week.

Things are all sorts of fucked up.
Things have changed drastically since my last entry on here. It's been nearly three months since I've written, but I've grown and developed into this weird human being who doesn't really know what's going on, as opposed to the well-informed person I was at the beginning of September. I've lost and regained nearly all my friends, I've confessed my love to someone I meant to hide my feelings from, I've been in a terrible car accident, I've grown apart from all that I know, and I've morphed into something that is unidentifiable.

I used to be able to classify myself easily with common adjectives in the English language. I can't do that now. My mind and soul have become a convoluted mess of underground tunnels and dimly lit hallways. There's this sickly sweet music winding throughout me, but I can't commit it to paper so everyone else can see. I feel truly, utterly alone for the first time. I am surrounded by people who claim to love me, but I still feel alone. Their assurances do nothing for me anymore: it's as though I'm a completely different species. I truly feel like I don't belong here.

It's late and I'm muttering such nonsense...

because the world will never take my heart
(rest in piece, Luke)
this kid at my school died last friday in a car accident. he was really nice. he was nice to me in eighth grade when people made fun of me. he also volunteered for Habitat For Humanity and he helped build my house. we have a picture of him along with some other volunteers in our garage. it's so sad. i'm going to miss him. he was so cool to everyone, even though he was preppy and popular. that kid did NOT deserve to die at all. we had a memorial in the auditorium. his mom was there.

Some people are too stupid to live.  and bases on how skuffed up the bumper of her car was this lady was one of them.

The accident happened this morning at approximately 11:45 AM (no later than Noon) in the parking lot of Kroger’s.  I had pulled to the side of the parking lot for a moment in a clear area well away from any other cars.  We had been stopped for approximately 2 minutes when a white Isuzu Rodeo began pulling out of an adjacent parking space. The car did not turn her vehicle as expected but simply kept backing straight out. Once we (Mamajo and I) realized that she was not going to turn or stop I began honking. She was about 4 feet from my car at this time. She continued to back towards me until she connected. We felt she was going at higher speeds than was appropriate for this maneuver in a parking lot. I thought she was going to drive away and honked several more times. She finally backed into the area in front of me and got out of the car. I also got out of my car to examine the damage. As before… Photos are available. On the Drivers side corner the bumper is scuffed and the plastic of the bumper frame is popped out from under the edge of the headlight. She tried to say it looked normal and I showed her the other headlight area so she could see the difference. I asked for her insurance information and she said it didn’t look bad and that we didn’t need to file a claim. She tried to get me to follow her to her mechanic so he could fix it. She never apologized for causing an accident and kept trying to avoid giving me her information. I was finally able to get her information. I thought Mamjo was gonna take her down when she kept trying to put me off.  She only had a photocopy of her Texas Drivers license but I recorded the info from that and her insurance card.  Luckily there was a witness.  Mamajo spoke to a young lady who was in her car at the time and witnessed the entire event. She gave us her name and cell phone number. When I would not follow her to the mechanic the lady seemed to become aggravated and drove away. She parked at the gas pumps a little ways over and then came back. She said she had called the police in to the scene. We said that was fine and that she was at fault. She finally decided to leave without waiting after she got my insurance information.  Duh lady... YOU are at fault.  It's not a problem for me if the cops come!
