Well, maybe not everywhere in the US!

If your cable system is run by Charter Cable, you'll see 30-second TV spots for Freebie Force starting August 8th and running till about the end of the month.  And perhaps those of you who don't have Charter Cable will see it on your own system if this campaign is successful!  Or maybe the video will be uploaded somewhere on the web like Youtube.

The official 30-second spot from Freebie Force will be out starting next weekend and will be available to those of you with Charter Cable in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, California, and probably a few other states.

This just happened to me and I needed to vent.  I recently cancelled my Direct TV service.  They then charged me for another month of service so my bill was now outrageous.  They called to tell me that if I stayed with them, they would wipe the whole bill out.  I explained that the reason I cancelled was because I was no longer able to afford it.  I was very disappointed in how they handled this whole situation.  I had been a customre for approx 4 years.  I had received numerous phone calls from other companies that wanted me to switch and give me a great deal for doing so.  These companies knew all of my account information.  They knew when i began using direct, what name address and phone number went with the account and the details of my service.  When I received these phone calls, I called Direct and notified them of the situation.  Then did nothing, I still received the calls.  When I was late on the payment, they cut me off after 2 weeks.  Then they told me I had 2 weeks to pay it.  My account had never even been a month late.  Usually if it was late at all, it was only by a few days depending on when the payment date fell and my pay check date fell.  So here we are, 4 years later, I'm a couple weeks late and they turned my service off.  I then told them to leave it off and cancel it.  I said I would pay them when I could but I couldn't afford to keep the account.  Today, I log into my bank account online, to find they had pushed their payment (remember it was more than I owed too), through on my debit card.  I have fallen on hard times like many others these days.  I have a college degree but still lost my job and have been unable to find a new one.  Direct TV has just stolen my grocery money for the month.  They had no authorization from me to charge my bill to my bank account yet did so anyway.  I contacted them and they refuse to let me speak to a supervisor nor do anything about the charge.  I am on the verge of pressing charges in some way.  I am sick of companies thinking they can take your money, treat you any way they choose and then get away with stealing from you.  This is the America we live in right now.  Those with a name can do whatever they want, but those of us trying to do the right thing and live a successful life get screwed everytime and we have no where to turn.  When are we all going to stop them?
