I think the whole "butch" and "femme" thing is totally whack. Wasn't the whole point of "being your own person" by freely expressing your sexuality supposed to break stereotypes and boxes as opposed to repackaging our relationships with similar gender roles that we see in the majority of straight people?
It seems when being introduced in some circles of homos and non homos the first question is "are you butch or femme?" and I honestly think its very offensive. I like to wear guys clothes sometimes and prefer to take a more dominant role in the bedroom, but I love pink (the color, not vag :-p) and am very "girly" in many other stereotypical senses.
I have been told by some girls that I wasn't femme enough for them (although I think that was code for attractive) while others said that I wasn't butch so they would not give me the time of day.
I am aware that as long as humans exists, no matter what sexual orientation or mindset one may have, that we will continue to try to put everyone and everything in boxes.
My question is am I the only person that thinks "butch" and "femme" stereotypes in lesbian and straight relationships are totally bogus and should go away?
There is a good number of songs that make me happy but the following number is up there with the best. It's that old classic "Raindrops keep falling on my head". The one I grew up with was the version by BJ Thomas.
This song was famously used in the movie "Butch cassidy and the sundance kid". It's a really fun and happy song to sing.

For a long time now, I've been struggling with my identity. I've IDed as everything from FTM transexual to Tomboi Femme. After much consideration, reconsideration, and discussions with Josh, I think I've finally become comfortable with the label of "Butch". "Butch Lite", or perhaps even "Fagboi", but still Butch. I've never really been comfortable calling myself "Femme", and in groups of Femmes, I always feel uncomfortable, like the one guy who's wife drags him to the Bridal Shower... So I think I'm gonna stick with "Butch." At least for now...
You wanna hear something both funny and kinda sad? It was Christmas with my first real girlfriend.We went to my dad's on Xmas Eve. My dad and his wife gave her a Sarah Michaels bath gel set, and I got the flannel shirt. What was really funny/sad about that was that in that relationship, I really was the butch one. People who know me find this hilarious.
