Buffy @ MindSay
If you are a huge fan of the show, you'd enjoy the biography on it, despite getting almost no new information out of it. If you are not yet a fan of the show, don't watch the biography. While it may convince you that BtVS is an amazing show still worth watching, all of the major surprises of the show are given away. I admit that it would be a pretty lame episode of Biography if they didn't discuss the important plot points, but if you are an unspoiled viewer that is still planning to watch, you had better stay away.
Despite already knowing practically everything and having to frequently roll my eyes as extremely major plot points were handed out like free candy, I was surprised at how moved I was by this Biography presentation and the short excerpts from the show. I choked up when Buffy ____ __ ____ Angel. My eyes were damp when Buffy ______ _____ __________ ______ and I lost all composure when Buffy _____________ _________ ____ Dawn. I dried my face and smiled hugely when clips from "Once More With Feeling" were shown. I had a huge lump in my throat when creator Joss Whedon said, "I didn't create Buffy to be a television show. I created Buffy to be an icon."
I haven't watched my Buffy DVDs in years. I'm watching new television and catching up on some other classic shows that I didn't give enough attention to when they originally aired. Despite continuing to proclaim that Buffy is my all-time favorite show, I have questioned that in the last couple years. I was totally obsessed with "Firefly" during it's brief run and I adore current shows "Battlestar Galactica" and "The Office". Are one of these amazing series my all-time favorite show? My emotional reactions to what amounts to nothing more than a well-produced clip show answered that question for me. BtVS will always be my favorite show.
The kiddo and I were watching season six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She likes it, but I think she's more of a Xena: Warrior Princess fan. Anyway, our conversation went as follows.
KIDDO: (after seeing a scene with Willow and Tara embracing) Wait a minute, they're gay?
ME: (feeling a bit uncomfortable) Yes sweety, they're gay.
KIDDO: (shrugs shoulders) I don't get it. Why are some people gay?
ME: Nobody really knows hon, it just happens.
KIDDO: Oh, well. They're just people like anybody else. I don't know why some people are mean to them. You shouldn't be mean to people because they're different.
ME: No baby, you shouldn't.
KIDDO; Are they gonna get married on the show?
ME: (Not wanting to spoil the ending of season six) No. Gay people can't get married.
KIDDO: Well there is one state where they can get married.
ME: (curious to know what she knows): What state is that?
KIDDO: California.
ME: How did you know this?
KIDDO: *sighs* Moooooom! I heard it on the news!
ME: Well excuuuuuse me.
KIDDO: (after watching some flirty dialog between Spike and Buffy) Buffy is NOT gay!
LOL! That kid really cracks me up sometimes, I swear!
I love the humor that went into the packaging.

also the new issue wolves at the gate is great of buffy is great i think its the one of the best issues yet 12-15 will all be called wolves at the gate the writer drew goddard who previously worked for the television series last season In the Buffy comics Drew had previously written the Dracula story Antique for the canonical Tales of the Vampires, which depicts Dracula as a someone tormented by his aging and loneliness Wolves at the Gate makes reference to Antique when Xander comments to Renee in Part I that, (sometimes when I get around this guy, I start acting... wonky) drew is the writer for this issue and also one of my faves these are the the covers the first one is done by jon foster and the second is Georges Jeanty.
