Thought I'd share the recipe for a fabulous dessert I sometimes serve as a cake and sometimes as brownies.
It's chocolate divine! And best of all it's very easy to make and if you're daring and creative you can serve this treat in a variety of ways. Apparently a favourite among men and children as well as women not currently dieting! It's rich, it's loaded with butter and sugar and eggs - small servings satisfy a chocolate craving but this cake can easily become addicting!!!!
From a book; "The Best of The Best and more" (Best of Bridge Series - Volume 1 - Best of Bridge Classics)
ingredients;
The Brownie Part
1 Cup Butter
2 Cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
4 Beaten Eggs
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Flour
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans
The Icing Part
2 Cups Icing Sugar
2 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
2 Tbsp Boiling Water
2 Tsp Vanilla
To make the brownies;
Cream together butter sugar and cocoa powder.
Mix in beaten eggs and vanilla. Add Flour and stir. Fold in Nuts. Bake in a greased 9 x 13 Pan at 350 F for 40 - 45 minutes. Top will appear to be underdone (falls in the middle) but don't overcook. Should be moist and chewy.
To make the icing; Beat all ingredients together while brownies are baking. Pour on top as soon as brownies come out of the oven. It will melt into a shiny glaze.
If your mom loves chocolate - bake one for her for Mother's Day!
Bake it for a sweetie, for a friend, for your self! Enjoy!
I'm baking one to take to work and share in a pot luck lunch we've arranged to send off our store manager who's making a career change.
