1. Don't date!  (seems obvious, but easier said than done)

 

2. Don't even look at attractive people (guys or girls)

 

3.  Be a hermit if you can!  (sounds fun eh?)

 

4.  Find a fun pasttime! (only not chess or other games you have to do with other people)

 

5.  Don't even befriend ugly people (this sometimes leads to dating)

 

6.  Write a lot!  (You can live your dating life through your characters)

 

7.  Eat onions and chipotle sauce EVERY day!  (no one will want to make out with you then- touche!)

 

8.  Destroy your cellphone (throwing it in a toilet works well)

 

9.  If anyone asks say your Jehovas Witness (most people will slam their door in your face before you get any offers.. no offense to JW'S)

 

10.  Get fat and or hairy!  (you will be better off during those cold winter months)

 

 

Now you know the tricks to being single!  I hope the world is a better place because of it! 

Wow, I stumbled across this website by accident today and I was reading a bit of my old entries.. How much fun was I last summer?  Heh!  Well, maybe I'll do a little bit of writing this summer too.  I think a couple of things have changed in my life and it might be interesting to fill my beautiful journal in and let my mindsay friends know that I didn't die or disappear into oblivion.  Then again, maybe they aren't around anymore either. 

 

I don't have time to write a full fledged blog now, but I will say... Adam's back!

   As a writer there are many things you must do right to have a sucessful story.  I'm not even talking about being published or famous. I  don't mean that type of sucessful, although we all kind of hope one day we'll see our book sitting on a library shelf, but any writer would agree that to have a successful story, you need good quality characters. 

 

   I got thinking today about what a character really says about me.  In the story, they have to be engaging.  It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them or wish they had a labadomy.  You just have to write them well.   Now, we've heard it a million times: WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW... and that leads me to my experiement.  I wondered how well I really knew my characters.

 

 I've written three big pieces with very detailed characters and I pulled out all the main characters in those three pieces and that left me with a total of 19 main characters.  Sounds like a lot for three stories, but not really.  Not for an old pro like me.  :)

 

  Then I started my poll.  I wanted to see how my characters were alike and so on...  but what I found out was what they actually had to say about me.  It was kind of fun.  I recommend doing so, besides if you think you don't have time.  Do it during writers block it might get you back on track. 

 

Out of 19 Characters: 

 

15 have lost their virginity

10 are male

9 are female

9 hate their parents

6 were raped by evil creatures (scifi story)

6 were sent away to a special help school

6 are hiding in an abandoned building

4 were raped by someone they knew

3 were raped by complete strangers

4 suffer from depression and hurt themselves by form of cutting or bulimia

2 are prostitutes

2 are above the age of 20

1 is a movie star

Yay... lol ...  first off.. no offense to emos, because I don't really know any and I was just trying to be funny.  Okay!   I thought I would take my stab at writing poetry.  Well, its not quite as good as my friend Sherry, or my mom for that matter.  But my mom doesn't write poetry.  She tells people that they are fat and should get off the couch, in a very nice way of course. 

 

  I really do wonder what emo people are thinking?  Since I have no background in the matter at all. Are there any emos out there reading my blog?  If so.. tell me why you act so dark and stuff....

 

  Maybe I should be Emo for a day.  What do you think?

   So it's independence day... how can you not write if you live in America?  It's a good day.  I'm not going to pretend like I know politics or any of that crap but I do know that people have family in Iraq and I do know my grandpa died in Japan in WWII to help the world be a better place.  It's a day of respect and fellowship and I hope everyone everywhere is at peace even for this one little day, even for a minute moment in time. 

   I watched the works with my rents.  It was a big outting.  The whole world seemed to be there but it was fun and my parents were actually cool tonight so it all worked out.  I know I give them a hard time but today I had to be good.  If that's even possible.  I want to try and start over with them.  I'll give them a second chance.  Maybe I can try to be the son they wanted.  I don't know.  It's Independence day.  We should all celebrate for that alone.
