I love Tuesday night television. Three of my favorite programs are on - American Idol, House & Boston Legal. I've been watching House for about a year and a half, but got hooked on Boston Legal last fall. It is a great show, a little reminicient of LA Law, but with a lot more wit and better characters.
Being a lawyer, you would think I would watch a lot of legal dramas, but I don't. Never have. Boston Legal is the first one I've watched religiously. Actually, I watch more medical dramas than legal dramas. But now that I've started to watch Boston Legal, I've ordered the first two seasons off of Netflix. I did the same thing with House, and I love being able to watch the episodes back-to-back with no commercial interuption. It really is the way to go.
Since watching Boston Legal, I learned that it is a spin-off of The Practice - a show I've never had the pleasure of watching. Low and behold my dismay when I found out it was not available on DVD! The show ran for many years, beginning in 1997 and is still not out on DVD. What gives?
Luckily I have Tivo (thank-god for Tivo!) and have found syndacated re-runs on television at 6:00 a.m., which I'm recording. My only regret is that the episodes will not be in order, so it might take me a while to catch up on what the underlying stories are and the characters' backstories. But I really have to wonder, can The Practice really match-up to Boston Legal - one of the best shows (reality & non-reality) to hit the tv lineup since Seinfeld? I don't know but I'm willing to find out.
As for this last episode, I really can't believe that Jeffrey Coho is leaving! He was such a great addition to the cast. I hope they bring him back in the future, unless he really isn't leaving... Although, as I've noticed from watching the first few episodes from Season 1, there are quite a few people who are no longer on the show!
