I sit in remembrance of that one important day
When I decided my life would be the military way
I patiently set and took a battering of tests
Striving for perfection, always giving it my best
Finally time came for me to take the oath and raise my right hand
And there among others, obscured, I did stand
Then I was off to learn soldiering first hand
And soon, in front of this bear of a man, I did stand
He put us into a group and told us which way to turn
How to move as a group, he said that we would surely learn
Assigning us to rooms, filled with seven others
Telling us to get along and consider each brothers
In the dark of the morning we were made to wake
How much of this can one person be expected to take
To the exercise field we would go for physical training
Returning, after time, with all of our muscles aching
Then it is off to the Mess Hall, they make sure you are fed
Eating some of this food, pounds you could surely shed
Off you would go to the rifle and grenade range
With all the equipment you surely feel strange
Train, train, train the whole day through
Then right back the next day and do it again too
Some, among us would crack, and beg to be sent home
As this life was not for all, but for the rest, the end would come
Finally the training is over, "YES", it is done
We had survived eight long weeks of what they called fun.

I see God working more and more everyday and His works never cease to amaze me. Praise be to my God who works all things, through all things, all for His Glory! Yesterday, I was reminded of 1 Corinthians 1:26-28.
"Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and he things that are not—to nullify the things that are..."
A co-worker of mine, who will remain nameless, told me of his brother, whom I went to high school with. Supposedly, after high school, he joined the army, came back, got saved and started living in obedience to God. Praise the Lord! That's awesome! Now however...(i hate however's), he is suddenly married to this girl whom, my co-work claims is a controlling little word I will not say and that his actions of late are not very Christ-like. My co-worker claims to have been a Christian once before but now denys the faith. In talking to him on this matter, of course all my advice comes from the Word of God which being a "Former Christian", my co-worker respected. I told him that it could be possible that his brother isn't saved and that you should examine the fruit of Christianity in his life, same for his new bride. He tells me in honesty and in understanding of this concept, he sees no fruit. Then I proceed to tell him about the atonement of Christ, that Christ died once and only once, and that once you are saved you are always saved. To fall away from the faith...the matter is delicate here. If you fall away from the faith, the bible tells you to examine yourself. Chances are you never had the real thing to begin with.
In either case I left him with these pearls of wisdom to take to his brother and his wife:
"Wives submit to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as also Christ is the head of the church...therefore just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." Ephesians 5:22-24
"'I hate divorce', says the Lord God of Israel." Malachi 2:16
It was only after sending him on his way in prayer and with these verses to help him that I realized... that message applies just as much as to him as it does his brother. He claims he chose to walk away from Christianity, for reasons I do not know, yet if you are truely saved by grace then you can't just walk away. When God has a hold of you, you can do nothing but hang on for the ride. Once saved always saved! You can't lose it and you can't lay it down!
I realize now that conversation had that purpose. God's working, not mine. I am just an instrument and unworthy am I of even that honor. But God uses the foolish things of this world to put to shame the wise. I was one. My co-worker, even though he may deny it, is one. I sent him, an unbeliever, armed with scripture to help his brother... whether he believes in it or not, he is working for God. All things work according to His purose and for his Glory for He controls all things, even those who do not believe.
He is the potter, the whole earth, his wheel, and we are just clay.

To live is Christ, to die is gain.

I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I've written... Well, last week I didn't have a class... I spent the majority of my days working on props... Which was a good thing, because I had to get those done... Nothing really exciting happened... On my day off, 4th of July, I went and watched fireworks with Lori and Kylee behind Target, and then we went to Wal-Mart, and there we actually had a better view, so we sat on top of the car and watched them for awhile... Eddie called and we got Wendy's, and then we came back to camp, Kylee went home, and Eddie, Lori and I sat on a blanket under the stars for a few hours... I had my melted chocolate frosty, and soggy, cold fries... LOL...
So this week I have 4 kids in my class... It's a much more cooperative group, and they take their time on things... We are actually incorporating drama, and a little bit of sign language this week... There are three girls and one boy... The boy, this afternoon, told me that he's signing up for Creative Arts again next year, and expects me to be there... Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen... But it was sweet of him to say that. (Both him signing up for it, and me coming back.)
So, I've been really stressed lately... I have a online math course I have to finish before college in the fall... It really sucks, because I hardly have time, and when I do, I feel like chilling, because I was so busy with other things... *Sigh*... Oh well... I WILL do it.
Oh, and, something I can't forget... I'M AN AUNT! My mom called me early this morning to tell me that my older sister had a baby girl this morning.... How exciting! My mom, younger sister, and younger brother are on their way to see them... (It's like a 12 hour drive) They offered to swing by and pick me up if I could get a ride to Chicago... But, that would mean I have to stay here longer at the end of the summer... Anyway, I'm staying here... Well, aside from tonight, when I am going to Chicago until tomorrow evening...
In all honesty, I don't really have much to say... Just thought I'd throw a random blog out there for the cyber world to eat... Because not many people read my blog anyway... Haha... Ciao!
And it is a little girl!!!! Baby Sephie was born at about 2:30a.m.ish on June 27th... she was 8 pounds and 6 ounces.
