Book Store @ MindSay

I bought a new book at an independent book store today. I bought a book about  government pork barrel spending. it looked good but I have a feeling it might be some sort of right-wing garbage.
Ok, I know, I shouldn't be spending any extra money on account of being unemployed. But I can't go to the library to get books because they say I owe them $60 for allegedly not turning in a DVD like four years ago. I know I turn that movie in. So, until it gets resolved I can't borrow anything from the library.
The other reason I bought the book was the conversation the people behind the counter were having was so funny I figured if these people are this cool they deserve my money. They were talking about Vegan Corn Dog's. It was really funny because one chick who, judging by her accent, was from the UK had never had a corn dog before. I also got a kick out of them making fun of Madonna.

On the job search front. I went to the employment agency today and was told that they actually aren't doing interviews today. So I filled out all my paperwork and stuff. I was told to call Monday.
That is so freaking annoying

The weekend has gone by much too quickly. Friday night Lindsey and I went out to eat at Zanzibar, then went back to my place to watch some movies.  Saturday consisted of a couple art exhibits during the day, and then going to Score Keepers to watch the Michigan game.  That was certainly a good time, and nothing I've ever done before.  Good thing Michigan won!  People went crazy. :)

I slept in this morning and had a nice, leisurely breakfast.  Now I think I might head over to the book store for awhile and just relax.

I went and voted today. I always like voteing it make me feel all good like I am changing the world.

I am proud to say that this is the fourth or fifth time I voted and I have yet to vote for a Republican.

Sure it's only the primary but hey every vote actually does count. I mainly voted because a fmaily friend who is on city council is running for state rep against five or six other people. It's a close race and I want to help her win it.

speaking of voting...

Yesturday I bought I really cool book The book is called The Secret Lives of the U.S. Presidents. Each president gets his own chapter that consist of bits of history that most people don't know. For instance did you know that Thomas Jefferson is rumored to have been in over a hundred duels, and had a bullet lodged inches from his heart causeing him pain until the day he died.

Oh, and while I was at the book store I saw what has to be the most disturbing book ever published. It was called The Little Book of Bunny Suicide. The book was full of little comics of fluffy little bunnies killing themselves. I laughed and felt kind of guilty. No, I didn't buy the book.

While working at the shoe store today I was reading the obituaries in the local paper.

One of the names caught my eye. For some reason the name looked like I knew it. I didn't.

But I still read the obit anyway. I tsaid the man was an engineer who worked to design most of the highways in Michigan. It also said that he was married to his wife for fifty years before she died.

Fifty years! Wow I can't even begin to emagine what it would feel like to spend your life with someone for that long and lose them like that. I am so young I honestly can't imagine what it is like to spend your life with someone.

The more I thought about it the more I want to know. I thought about seeing if there were any books about it. then I thought it would be cool to write a book about it.

I have always loved to write and have always dreamed about getting a book published. Maybe this will be it.

I would have to do alot of research. Like I said, I have no idea what it would be like to go through that. The first person I would go to would be my grandmother (on my dad's side). She has lost two husbands. The first when she still had children to take care of. The second when she/they were retired.

I'm not sure if this book would be a work of fiction or not. Heck, I'm not even sure if I will acutally write this book.  

I made a mask for the little "masquerade ball" we're having in our values class.  Like act 1, scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet, since we're reading it and all... They're going to pick people to be the roles and act it out, too... I didn't /really/ make it; I got a plastic half-mask thingie from the craft store, then painted it.  Orange, yellow-green, and magenta spots on a yellow background.  And a ribbon to tie it with. Yay.

   Still don't have a locker. ^^;  I forgot to talk to the attendance lady yesterday though, which won't exactly speed up the process...  Although Marie and I were walking on the old floor upstairs, which is basically where all the empty ones are.  We found a few non-locked, empty ones, and I wrote down one of the numbers.  Now I really want that one, we'll just have to wait and see if it's taken...:P

   Huh, not a lot to say.  I should really finish reading Wicked because I'm doing my journalism beat project on it.  I'm only about halfway through though, eheh.  So far it's been going okay, but I'll need to have finished it for the editorial article. (I'd been hoping to do a book review...  Can't exactly do a book review without reading the book.)  It's a good book so far, definitely not for children though...0_0;
