Bo @ MindSay

Well it is 10:01 pm in my household and I just got the kids put to bed; so I can turn around and wake them up at 7 am on a Saturday:D

 

Class went really well and we had a lot of fun.  Even though we are NOT officially Camo belts, Mr. Johnson told us to show up for it.  We are doing Bo Staff or as some of you know them Long Staffs.  This is one of Mr. Johnson's favorite weapons so he teaches us a lil more than normal!  Since there were enough lil ones to pair with each other, I got to pair with Mr. Johnson.  It was nice to actually spar and practice with someone who is just as tall if not taller then you!  Normally I end up on my knees or squating down cause I get stuck with the lil guys!:D

 

The kids and I went to Perkins and had a nice lesurly dinner while Randy and Arjan were driving home.  Spud was very happy to see Randy and from what Randy could deduce by his behavor we are going on day 3 of no seuzuries.  Yay!  After dinner the kids and I headed back to the Taekwondo Academy for post dated testing.  There was one Brown belt, two Blue belts, 3 Yellow belts (that would be us) and one White belt.  We also had 4 Tiny Tiger various colored belts testing.  We did very well.  And Mr. Jones and Mr. Johnson used us as an example and got right after the 3 higher ranked belts (brown and blues) on how they were too toned down and not being respectful.  We got to show off our double sticks (basically swords) moves but since it was post testing we didn't get to show any of our basic sparring skills.  Unlike normal testing where you get your belt that day after testing, we don't get our new camo belts till Monday evening's class.  Why?  Mr. Johnson likes to present the belts in front of as many students as possible for post dated testers.  Simply because we are the ones that have missed regular classes for one reason or another and have had to put more work in and he likes to rub it in a nice manner to the regular class. 

 

We also got our sparring gear tonight.  I strung the kids payments out over 4 months because it was before the Holidays.  I paid off mine in one shot tonight.  Mr. Johnson had all my sparring gear on hand brand new but my chest protector.  He has to order that.  But he was nice enough to order my gear bag when he did the kids' so I could have it when I paid for my sparring gear!  Tomorrow we are heading into IA about an hour and half in to watch a TKD Tournie before we partake in one.  The kids want to get up at 7 am so they can make their cousin Cody a poster to cheer him on.  He is 7 almost 8 and a black belt.  This will be his first black belt tournie.  They also plan on making Amanda, one of their rank classmates who is takign part tomorrow, a sign.  And we plan on making Mr. Johnson and Mr. Jones a sign also.  They are both partakign in teh black belt adult division.

 

Since Randy and Arjan will be up near where we will be at tomorrow we are meeting them for an early dinner after we watch Mr. Jones and Mr. Johnson in the tournie!

Bo Diddley suffered a stroke in Council Bluffs, IA sometime yesterday while preforming a concert in.  Now if you don't know who Bo is, then I strongly suggest you all go google him and download some of his music.  IMO he is one of the best Rock and Roller's out there.  He is in the R & R Hall of Fame.

 

Luckley he is getting some of the best care in NE and Western IA.  He is in guarded condition at the Creighton University Medical Center.  Creighton and University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha are some of the best hospitals in the midwest.  A lot of folks will choose to travel to them instead of a city closer to them across Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska,  and South Dakota due to the high level of care.  My own mother choose to go up to Creighton, and UNO for her cancer treatment instead of staying in our local area or traveling to Sioux Falls or Lincoln which are also known for their great cancer treatments and hospitals.

  There's this guy I know who is just absolutely amazing. His name is Bo and not only is he incredibly gorgeous, we have so much in common. He is in Guys and Dolls with me...he plays Sky Masterson. It's crazy how much alike we are, and how sweet he is. He looks really punk or whatever, but he's actually rather poetic....he can quote Shakespeare! Another thing that I just love about him is the fact that he can sing so well and act and his interest is in the performing arts-- just like me. In the cast, he's one of my best friends. There's only a few people I truely can talk to. Bo is one of the few. I just don't know what to do.... I mean, he flirts with me and stuff, and it seems pretty obvious that he likes me, but I vaguely remember him telling me a couple of months ago that he had a gurlfriend and I have no clue whether they are still together or not.  I mean, I definately hope not, but I have no idea. And, I mean, I don't really want to just outright ask him, because of course that would get him thinking ya know "why does she want to know?", etc. So.... I don't know. It's just that I've never known someone that I have had so much in common with. Even the little things that I thought I was alone with we share. Such as: He eats coconut straight out of the bag, so do I. It's insane the stuff that we do so much alike. But it's not one of those ditzy crushes that I always have. I'm just so comfortable around Bo. I'm never worried about how I have to act around him or what to say or how to look or what to wear.... I'm just myself. I remember hearing a quote one time, that I can't exactly remember the words, but it went something like this:
Your true love is the one who brings out the best in you, not the best in who you want to be.
Or something to that effect.
But it completely explains this whole thing between Bo and I. I don't have to worry about what happens when I'm with him because I know he accepts me for who I am and I accept him for who he is. I just can't explain it.

Last year, I definately thought I was in love with a boy named Trevor. I mean, I had liked him all my life, it was obviously love, right? Wrong. It wasn't that I liked him or found him attractive, it was more the need to be loved, and Trevor seemed like he would be a potential. Boy, was I wrong. As it turns out, he despised me (big surprise.). When he got a gurlfriend, I was so jealous and I completely screwed up everything and so now they both me. I thought it was the end of the world, and that my life would suck forever and ever amen. But, now that I'm completely over Trevor, I realize that I really never loved him, it was just a cry of attention, really. I think I wanted to believe that I had a chance with him, but I knew in the back of my mind that there really was no way.

It reminds me yet again of this crush that I have had for, I don't know, a few months. I think the only reason why I liked him was really because he is a Josh Groban fan, whom I adore. But, I never see him. Craig (the guy) is a great guy and all, but he's totally not my type or whatever. I really don't have much in common, even though we are both energy-filled people with a passion for classical music.

Those two instances are completely different than the whole Bo thing. He's my good friend and we are like two peas in a pod.... I'm not even exaggerating. We have so much in common that it's almost scary. We finish eachother's scentences and know what the other is going to say and we have this amazing relationship that really is great to see. I have never, not ever, had such a great relationship with a guy.

I do believe it's love.

Do you remember February 1993 when a young 3 yr. old was taken from a Shopping mall in Liverpool, NY by two 10-year-old boys? Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mommy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed batteries up his anus. It was actually worse than this... What these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie's mother was FORBIDDEN to identify his body. They then left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys, understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident. This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity for the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. We cannot let this happen. They will also leave early this year only serving just over half of their sentence. One paper even stated that Robert may go on to a University. They are getting away with their crime. They disgustingly and violently took Jamie's life away. - in return they get a new life. Please read it carefully... then add your name at the end... and send it to everyone you can! Before I get to TV, I just want to tell you about NiceTonnia.  She is studying abroad in Nice, France (the French Riviera) and will be taking us along on the ride with her via her blog.  You should check it out.  It should be good.

Now on to television finales.

I should be mad at L O S T.  They promised to answer all my questions.  Instead, they answered none of them and left me with a new gigantic cliffhanger of a question that may effect the lives of everyone on the island (and the four that left the island on the raft).  But am I mad?  No.  Because it was freakin' amazing.  Oh my God what a phenominal finale.  That show is unbelievably good, and if none of you watched it this season, it'll be on DVD in like two weeks.  I HIGHLY suggest checking it out.  Wow.  I wished that episode was four hours long.

Now on to Alias, which I am mad at, I think.  The show has been steadily going downhill since they killed off Sydney's (Jennifer Garner's) non CIA friends.  The best part about the show was seeing her juggle her real life with her spy life.  But there is none of that now.  Now it's all this supernatural crap and way too much Rambaldi (If you don't know what that means let's just say he was a super prophet and it's getting annoying).  

So anyway, Michael Vartan plays a character named Michael Vaughn.  He is going to marry Sydney.  At the end of the season finale, he is driving in a car with Sydney.  .They are saying they should just elope and get married on the beach instead of having a real wedding.  But first, Mikey needs to confess something.  He says it is the reason they met in the first season.  She says, "Vaughn, what are you talking about?" and he says, "Well, for starters, my name isn't Michael Vaughn," and then BAM a car smashes into the side, their car crumbles, and the season ends.

Really really really weak cop-out?  I don't know.  It all depends on what they do with it next season.

And finally, to American Idol.  I don't think Bo or Carrie is a good American Idol.  Vonzell was the pretty black girl with the good dance moves.  She is the pop idol.  She is the Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera.  Carrie and Bo aren't pop idols.  I actually think either of them would have been better off not winning.  Carrie would have gone on to make an extremely popular country album, and Bo would have gone on to make an extremely popular rock album.  Instead, Carrie is going to be turned into a pop idol, and that just isn't who she is.  I guarantee you someone will make a record with Bo, and his will sell more than Carrie's.
