Blogs Mindsay @ MindSay
Fairydustings said something in one of her blogs today that I would like to relflect.
I have not kept track of how long I have been in Mindsay but I really like belonging to this family. I have not had the opportunity to meet many of the fellow Mindsayers but if I could I would.
I have had lots of great conversations here, especially with ahhfreakingrr. She and I have had some "spirited" discussions. She and I would never last three minutes in a convo without getting into a discussion of sorts. I miss her and I hope her and J are doing fantastic. But I really like the fact that I can go here, blog about something, maybe get something off of my chest and feel welcome whether I may be right or wrong. I was even voted Top Blog! once when a soldier I worked with came home from Iraq. I blogged about what it was like for him there and what it was like for him to come home.
It was not always that easy for me here at first. I kept adding these mindsayers and got called out about because they did not know me. Well things have changed. I get added and I add as well and it is nice to read about what other people have going on.
I must admit that many times I only read and not reply and that is o.k. when it is done to me. Sometimes I have nothing to say and other times I have plenty to say but know it may be better just to say nothing at all.
I chose Mindsay back in the day because I needed a place to express my feelings about I girl I worked with. She has come and gone but Mindsay is still here.
Thank you Mindsay for being here and thank you for all of my blog friends here for adding me, reading some of my boring blogs and putting up with some of my raves which can be alarming I know.
Now if I can just get that perfect header pic....
What happened MindSay? Where did all of the fun go? It used to be where everyone blogged about their dreams, their goals, worked together to do something.
Now? The opposite.
We blog about pain, anger, stress. There are no more poems about sunsets, there are no aspiring musicians. When someone does come up with a great thing and does great things, you turn your back on them.
Why? Figure it out, because you're slowly killing it.
We care about MindSay. That's the only reason why we're asking. Why are we asking?
- Nobody uses the voting system. They didn't before, yet cried foul. Now that it's transparent and open, it's obvious that nobody ever used it in the first place. Why?
- Projects like wtf are amazing people. They do it for you, not to hear themselves talk. Yet, I don't see much support or thank you's. It's a great show. Crawl out of your hole and give them some love.
- We blog about the same crap every day. Look at the top tags on the home page. Life, Love, Pain, Death. Come on. Be creative. Interact a little.
If you don't like us or our show, that's fine, we still respect you. To the few of you that have always supported us, thank you thank you thank you.

I couldnt keep my mouth shut on this one. Im not new to Mindsay. My first blog here was started a year after Mindsay was founded. I've been around for a little while.
I've witnessed some absolutely outstanding writers and bloggers come through here.
I've seen a community act together for things that make a profound difference.
I've seen my share of blogs that move you almost as much as the heartfelt reply left after the blog. Mindsay, as a whole, used to blow me away. It's made me feel every emotion known to man and then some.
Those blogs are still here.
Those people are still here.
The actions are still going on.
Granted, its not the same people that started originally. A lot of the old community, most of my favorite bloggers, have left, deleted accounts, and were never to be heard from again.
But the same "type" is still here.
The problem now though, is this. We have all these ways to FIND these blogs, discussions, new outlets, and ideas. Top Blogs. And tags. And Wikis. Etc. But it seems that what is being highlighted and PRAISED in the community is not to the same par that it once was.
Blogs that lack substance and innovativeness grace the top blog positions... when another users or topic should be the one there.
Mindsay is turning into Myspace.
Quick comments.
Brief blogs that put nothing on the table.
Egotistic maniacs.
Overly emotional drama queens killing for attention.
Popularity contests galore.
... win top spot over something that is truly beautiful.
Im not speaking on behalf of the Tech Show here. But it really doesn't look like BDTSP was trying to ATTACK anyone. Not trying to piss anyone off. Just made a blog. Just a thought. And a good one at that as far as Im concerned.
THIS is the kind of topic that should land a top spot.
THIS is where we really can see who gives a shit and how people really feel.
Put top blogs in action.
I want to know what the rest of Mindsay thinks about this.
So. Thats my two cents.
I love Mindsay btw. Just as much as the next person.
Mindsay is simply, home. No matter what happens.

I want people to vote it up. I want people to comment. I want for people worth a damn to come thru and say "Hey! Im here. I try. Im tired of reading the same crap from the same coveted user who doesnt deserve it. Im sick of reading poorly puncuated blogs that have no guts. Fuck that."
Whatever the hell else Mindsay might have to say about it! I want it all! Even if its completely different from how I feel.
I might even take the time to show it to some of my favorite users. Some of the reason I still love mindsay. THOSE people, I like to visit.
I hate it when people make a mindsay blog, but never post anything in it because they "just want to look at OTHER PEOPLE's blogs."
Really. What is the point of that? It just labels you as stalker-esque. Then I start peering over my shoulder, to see if anyone's following me into the chocolate factory. I LIKE CHOCOLATE, DAMNIT, AND I WILL GET NICE AN' FAT IF I WANT! You can't stop me! *runs away*
Hem, hem. Sorry about that. My... er... evil twin has issues.
You don't have to daily update your blog, or put hours of work into your posts. Just have short blogs... like "Hi, I'm new to mindsay, though I'm kind of just here because my friends forced me to check out the site ;) Evil biznitches!"
Anything simple like that reassures paranoid people like me that you're not a stalker, and that you're actually ALIVE
and have a functional brain
None of Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompas were injured in the making of this rant. They just got really, really drunk.
P.S. This is the full picture of my avatar.
