The 90's (cover) Song of the Day: The SUNDAYS (part I)
Here comes another Hybrid Edition 90's Song of the Day entry considering this is a "cover song". This time, the original version doesn't link to the 70's Song of the Week blog because it hasn't been posted there yet. I'll post it there one day.
The 90's Song of the Day Special Announcements: Many of you remember the sweet beginnings of the 90's Song of the Day project and the songs from bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, NIN, Sublime, and so on and so forth. Those bands WILL return this October accomodating to the "favorite album / song" that was mentioned by the majority. Prepare yourself lol! :p

The Sundays - Blind (1992)
Wild Horses
by The Rolling Stones
performed by The Sundays
Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can’t let you slide through my hands
Wild Horses
couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses
couldn’t drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild Horses
couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses
couldn’t drag me away
I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don’t have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried
Let’s do some living after we die

couldn’t drag me away

And I,

Just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
To have someone to come home to

Sour Times
by Portishead
by Portishead
To pretend no one can find,
The fallacies of morning rose,
Forbidden fruit, hidden eyes,
Courtesies that I despise in me
Take a ride, take a shot now.
‘Cause NOBODY loves me
...It's true...
Not like you do
Covered by the blind belief,
That fantasies of sinful screens,
Bear the facts, assume the dye,
End the vows no need to lie, enjoy,
Take a ride, take a shot now.
‘Cause nobodyLOVES me
...It's true...
Not like you do
Who am I? What and why?
‘Cause all I have left is my memories of yesterday,
Ohh these sour times.
‘Cause NOBODY loves me,
...It's true...
Not like you do.
After time the bitter taste,
Of innocence decent or race,
Scattered seed, buried lives,
Mysteries of our disguise revolve,
Circumstance will decide.
‘Cause NOBODY luvs me,
...It's true...
Not like you do
‘Cause nobody LOVES me,
...It's true...
Not like you...
‘Cause NOBODY LOVES ME,

Better Man
by Pearl Jam
Waitin', watchin' the clock,
It's four o'clock, it's got to stop.
Tell him, take no more,
She practices her speech
As he opens the door, she rolls over...
Pretends to sleep as he looks her over.

She lies and says she's in love with him,
Can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red,
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Ohh...
Talkin' to herself,
there's no one else who needs to know...
She tells herself, oh...
.................
Memories back when she was bold and strong
And waiting for
the world to come along...
Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone.
She lies and says she's in love with him,
Can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red,
Can't find a better man...
She lies and says she STILL loves him,
Can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red,
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Yeah...

She loved him, yeah...
She don't want to leave this way
She feeds him, yeah...
That's why she'll be back again!
Can't find a better man
(Can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man
(Can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man

Far Behind
by Candlebox
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But I did it anyway
And now maybe
Some would say your life was sad
But you lived it anyway
And so maybe
Your friends they stand around they watch your crumble
As you falter to the ground
And then someday
Your friends they stand beside as you were flying
Oh you were flying oh so high
But them someday people look at you
For what they call their own
They watch you suffer
Yeah they hear you calling home
But then someday we could take our time
To brush the leaves aside so you can reach us
But you left me far behind!
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No, no, no
Couldn't share the pain, they watch you suffer
Now maybe
I could have made my own mistakes
But I live with what I've known
And then maybe we might share in something great
But won't you look at where we've grown
Won't you look at where we've gone
.
But then someday comes tomorrow holds
A sense of what I feel for you in my mind
As you trip the final line
.
And that cold day when you lost control
Shame you left my life so soon you should have told me
But you left me far behind!
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No, no, no
Oh no
Oh no no no no...
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
I said times have changed, your friends
They come and watch you
Crumble to the ground
They watch you suffer
Yeah, they hold you down
Hold you down
Now maybe, maybe love
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But you left me far behind
Left me FAR BEHIND
Left me Far Behind...
