Bdtsp @ MindSay
Wonderingsoul's Top Blog entry "Offended and Riled" brought it to my attention that bdtsp's entry stated that "YUO PEEPS BE KILLIN' TEH MINDSAY!"
So, I found a solution to "Save MindSay" (No, I will not leave MySpace) and the reason why MindSay seems to be dying to some. But I'm going to do it "MY WAY" and NO ONE will tell me to write a poem about sunsets. Want me to be creative? FINE:
No one used the voting system before...?
so i have found out that people on here don't leave comments
no i don't just blog so ppl can give me input and i can
feel special
it was just an observation.
even on the awesome blogs like scriggity
and bdtsp
there aren't a whole heck of alot of comments
i mean come on input helps bloggers know if people are actually reading there stuff
and comments let bloggers know if people like their stuff or if they don't.
so if it doesn't take alot of time out of your day leave a comment!
it doesn't even have to be on my page
just give us your input
and now ladies and gents.... the moment you have all been waiting for
zaney... crazy... wacky.... thats right the weird fact of the day!!!
did you know that a duck's quack doesn't echo.
yep you heard it here you put a duck in a room that echos alot
and when that duck quacks. there will be no echo.
insane i know.. but at the same time.. true...
i hope that weird fact changed your outlook on life....
thankyou...
and have a super duper awesome Day !!
peace
Here is my take on the subject for any of those who care to read:
I have been feeling the loss of verve on mindsay for a good number of months now. When I first came to this beautiful place in June of 2005, I was astounded that such a community could exist. It was full of life, love, and peaceful communication *for the most part*. There were poets, photographers, and inspirational thoughts. There were people who you could truly get to know and count amongst your friends. Mindsay was my haven of safety from all the stormy battles of the internet. It was nice to read honest commentary from someone's heart about their own life, their struggles, their joys...their feelings were real...genuine...true.
Unfortunately since then, I have seen the world of Mindsay become so torn you might mistake the community for confetti. Ugly phrases and evil minds have been stalking, tormenting, belittling, and crushing every blogger in their path. These fiends didn't want to share ideas or discuss subjects rationally. No! They were on the hunt to kill and destroy. I have seen bloggers flee from their very presence never to be seen again on Mindsay. Even I was attacked on more than one occassion by the passers-by who wished me ill. They took away my sense of home and belonging...made me cautious.
Then I saw the community in general take a more precarious tone. Negativity began to flow through every inch of Mindsay, trying to cover every shimmer of hope, every gleam of gold that would be found underneath their sticky tar. Still, hope and light shine through the cracks...and when I find them I hold them close to me, pushing away all the bad so that I can still have that little piece of good to which I cling...that hope for which I crave.
I have found a few very good friends on Mindsay. I have found some enemies. I had found a home, but have since been searching for that place where I could feel safe to share my ideas again...safe to be myself again..to explore the recesses of my soul. Though the search continues, I stay on here...still hoping that we, as a community, will get back to the basics of civility and conduct and begin once again to be the great community that once was.
What happened MindSay? Where did all of the fun go? It used to be where everyone blogged about their dreams, their goals, worked together to do something.
Now? The opposite.
We blog about pain, anger, stress. There are no more poems about sunsets, there are no aspiring musicians. When someone does come up with a great thing and does great things, you turn your back on them.
Why? Figure it out, because you're slowly killing it.
We care about MindSay. That's the only reason why we're asking. Why are we asking?
- Nobody uses the voting system. They didn't before, yet cried foul. Now that it's transparent and open, it's obvious that nobody ever used it in the first place. Why?
- Projects like wtf are amazing people. They do it for you, not to hear themselves talk. Yet, I don't see much support or thank you's. It's a great show. Crawl out of your hole and give them some love.
- We blog about the same crap every day. Look at the top tags on the home page. Life, Love, Pain, Death. Come on. Be creative. Interact a little.
If you don't like us or our show, that's fine, we still respect you. To the few of you that have always supported us, thank you thank you thank you.

I couldnt keep my mouth shut on this one. Im not new to Mindsay. My first blog here was started a year after Mindsay was founded. I've been around for a little while.
I've witnessed some absolutely outstanding writers and bloggers come through here.
I've seen a community act together for things that make a profound difference.
I've seen my share of blogs that move you almost as much as the heartfelt reply left after the blog. Mindsay, as a whole, used to blow me away. It's made me feel every emotion known to man and then some.
Those blogs are still here.
Those people are still here.
The actions are still going on.
Granted, its not the same people that started originally. A lot of the old community, most of my favorite bloggers, have left, deleted accounts, and were never to be heard from again.
But the same "type" is still here.
The problem now though, is this. We have all these ways to FIND these blogs, discussions, new outlets, and ideas. Top Blogs. And tags. And Wikis. Etc. But it seems that what is being highlighted and PRAISED in the community is not to the same par that it once was.
Blogs that lack substance and innovativeness grace the top blog positions... when another users or topic should be the one there.
Mindsay is turning into Myspace.
Quick comments.
Brief blogs that put nothing on the table.
Egotistic maniacs.
Overly emotional drama queens killing for attention.
Popularity contests galore.
... win top spot over something that is truly beautiful.
Im not speaking on behalf of the Tech Show here. But it really doesn't look like BDTSP was trying to ATTACK anyone. Not trying to piss anyone off. Just made a blog. Just a thought. And a good one at that as far as Im concerned.
THIS is the kind of topic that should land a top spot.
THIS is where we really can see who gives a shit and how people really feel.
Put top blogs in action.
I want to know what the rest of Mindsay thinks about this.
So. Thats my two cents.
I love Mindsay btw. Just as much as the next person.
Mindsay is simply, home. No matter what happens.

I want people to vote it up. I want people to comment. I want for people worth a damn to come thru and say "Hey! Im here. I try. Im tired of reading the same crap from the same coveted user who doesnt deserve it. Im sick of reading poorly puncuated blogs that have no guts. Fuck that."
Whatever the hell else Mindsay might have to say about it! I want it all! Even if its completely different from how I feel.
I might even take the time to show it to some of my favorite users. Some of the reason I still love mindsay. THOSE people, I like to visit.
