so my younger brother daniel and some of his friends started a band and they want me to sing for them. they're all freshmen, but i don't care so i said i would. we have our first real practice tomorrow but the only one of them who has heard me sing is my brother, so i'm still not sure if they'll really want a girl singer. they told me it'd be a good thing to get noticed and stand out, since they want to have like a grunge-metal band and they wanted something different. my brother's a really awesome drummer, though. like, the best i've heard and i'm not just saying that, he's amazing. but the other two have never heard him play either, they just go on what i've said about him. so i'm really excited for tomorrow, this is really happening. i'm so glad everyone's really serious about it.
problem: we don't have a fucking bass player. i know one, my ex, but he won't do it.
Well Hello There!!
OK...soooo....all this week I've been helping with the lil girls vball camp. Except for Wednesday.....but it was fun the days I was there. All I had to do was run stations and throw a ball. ANd yet I still managed to sweat my bum off!!
Monday, Tuesday, Today, and Tomorrow we've had/will have swim practice. Today I was totally dead and didn't want to do anything.....
Wednesday Elias got a tube put in his right ear. So my mom, Brad and Elias had to be at the hospital @ 6am. I had to watch Evan. Mom woke me and him up at 5:30am to go downstairs and sleep. We then slept till 9:30.....it went well.....I also had a swim meet that day and band sectionals. It was a rush all day long. I did place in all 5 of my events though....and I got purdy ribbons. And a nice red sunburn....
.
Today I had practice and the camp. Joel picked me up from practice in the sweet ass truck. He brought me home and I ate and watched a movie. Then he came over after work too. We sat on the front porch....and I licked the cookie dough beaders!!
This week was an ok week. There wasn't too much argueing....not really anyway....and the problems were worked out.
I'm trying for my liscence on tuesday not saturday. The Findly DMV was all full so I'm taking it earlier....and I'n terrified. I have to take my Dad's Honda Passport.....Hopefully I don't fail!!
I do believe that is all!!
TTFN
Well, now the marching band starts. I didn't know what else to blog about so I just picked something that was happening right now. All I can say is that I'm excited and very nervous. Michelle says that it's tiring and terrible. Then she says it's good, which makes no sense to me. So really, I have no idea what to expect. I just hope that I like it as much as I liked our first practice last week. I also can't wait till band camp because people keep saying that it's going to be fun. Then other people tell me it sucks. That's all I've got to say.
- Dan out!
Before I explain myself, let's start things off with a few random quotes:
"I reject your reality and substitute it with my own!" -- Mythbusters
"Trust the smoke." -- Me
"Inexplicably, I am wearing chain mail." -- also from Mythbusters
"That's no flying saucer, that's my ass!!" -- Bender from Futurama
"It reaches out in all directions, like a confused octopus." -- Narrator on Discovery Atlas: Brazil
Momma: "Why are you checking it again?"
Daddy: "Well now I'll check it a third time, just so you have something to say about it."
Momma: "All right, smartass."
"Pants!!" -- Alex, one of my roommates
"That's the table from Mariner's; get that out of here!" -- Mr. Richardson
Me: "Ok, so here's me, and here's Ian..."
Ian: "Why am I the pepper?"
Me: "Because I want to be the salt."
*later in same conversation*
Jenny: "I bet he was coming to pepper your chicken."
*in a discussion about building a huge pond in our backyard*
Momma: "Why does it have to be that close to the back of the house?"
Daddy: "What else am I going to do with the yard?"
Momma: "Well, I was thinking that one day we might have grandchildren who want to come over and play in the backyard, and I don't want to worry about them falling in that pond if they want to play baseball or football."
Daddy: "They can play boat-ball!"
*pause*
Momma: "You're so full of shit, Joe."
*giggles* :p
Now to explain the title: I came back to my apartment after class to find that my bathroom floor is covered in water. It's pouring down rain outside, there's no visible leak in my ceiling (plus I live on the first floor), so I am left to assume that either some pipe is leaking, or the water is seeping up from underground. Cuz nowhere else in the apartment is flooded, that I know of. And my bedroom is fine, as far as I can tell.
Well, at least it's in the bathroom. That way I can just wring stuff out over the tub or the toilet. But still. Now I know better than to lazily leave a pile of clothes on the bathroom floor. =P
In other news, let's end this post on a humerous note. Here is the latest band email from Mr. Richardson, sent out yesterday in regards to today's rehearsal:
-----------------------
Subject: Monday Musings
1) In the event of rain during the afternoon, we will rehearse inside the CAPA building. Stay tuned for further updates.
2) Please do not call asking if we are having rehearsal.
3) We will rehearse even if it is raining.
4) Tomorrow's rehearsal will be indoors should precipitation occur.
5) There is no Monday Musing number five.
6) A good music rehearsal is just what the doctor ordered to cure a case of rain.
7) In the unlikely event of sunshine, rehearsal will be at the practice field.
8) By the way, please do not call, e-mail, write, shout, telegraph, inquire by way of carrier pigeon, or in any other manner ask if we are indeed holding rehearsal on the morrrow (that being Monday) -- the answer is a resounding YES.
Cheers! KR

*snickers* :p
Well, that's all I have to say at the moment. I will be here until 2:30ish, then I'm going to send a carrier pigeon to find out if we have rehearsal today. ;)
Until next time,

First bit of news: Ian and I have adopted a pair of itty-bitty kittens. ^_^ They are absolutely adorable, and of course I really don't object to having them in the house along with Meadow (the full-grown female cat he's had for years). But there's one problem: Meadow objects to having them in the house with Meadow. lol
I love her to death, I really do, but she is EXTREMELY pissy about us bringing other animals into the house, especially cats. She really dislikes dogs, but she will tolerate a dog in the house far better than she will tolerate another cat or cats. In fact, "tolerate" is a really strong word to use for it. The last time we brought another cat in, she went basically psychotic. She spent most of her time hiding from us, and when the other cat made the mistake of getting too close to her, she attacked it. Then, when Ian tried to separate the two of them, she decided to attack him instead. So yeah. That didn't work out so well. I mean, Kabota was happier at the shop anyway, which was where he lived before we brought him home, so it worked out for the best. But still. Scary psycho-kitty.
So this time, Ian and I came home with the two kittens. I brought them inside while Ian stayed out talking with the neighbors. They were in a little cardboard box with a towel inside, all curled up and whatnot. I walked in, and Meadow was waiting at the doorway, as she usually does. I told her Hello, then I placed the box down on the floor. Then I sat down beside the box and waited to see what would happen. Of course, I had a fairly good idea already, but anyway.
She slowly approached the box, sniffing the air as she went. When she got close enough to see and figure out what they were, she hissed in their general direction. I said something along the lines of, "It's all right, Meadow." Then she turned and hissed at me. Then she slinked off to assume her post underneath the rocker, which is one of the places she likes to hide when she's mad.
So yeah. She's in Queen Bitch mode. She won't attack the kittens or anything like that. (Honestly, they're still very young, so we don't let them wander around by themselves anyway.) No, she would rather stay hidden as long as she knows they're around. And we've mostly just left her alone. Any attempt to coax her out only makes her more hostile, so basically we just let her be. She's gotta deal with it in her own time. But suffice it to say that she is very unhappy with the both of us. =P
In other news: Yesterday's band practice was a royal fuck-up deluxe. We're learning a new show, and there are still several bugs to be worked out. One spot in particular is where the entire back half of the band crosses through each other for 36 counts of 6-to-5 marching, then once we hit that spot we continue marching right to the next set. Band nerds will know what I mean by that. The rest of you....Just know that there's a part where we march across the field, get to our spots, then immediately start going to our next spots, without stopping.
Well. We did a complete run-through of the show twice. The first time we did it, everybody in my section of the field screwed up long before that one move. Then it came time for the move, and we marched across the field. We hit our spots, and I continued marching.
One problem: Nobody else in my section moved.
I was like, "Um....guys?" Cuz I'm in the very back of the line, and nobody saw me moving. (Nobody usually sees or hears me anyway.) So I was like, "Great. I'm going to look like an idiot, but I'm the only one right." And so I was. They moved when they thought they were supposed to move, and I was nearly two moves ahead of them, but I was right. When the song finished, they were all like, "What happened? How did we end up in the wrong spot?" I was like, "Ugh." -_-
So we ran through the show again. We did that same move again. And I'll be God damned, the same damn thing happened again: I kept moving, and they all stood still. This time I shouted, "No!! We keep moving!!" And I don't think they realized exactly who said it, but they heard me and moved. I was like, "About friggin' time."
*sigh* But yes. That was indeed a royal fuck-up deluxe. lol
And finally in recent news: Memoirs of a Geisha is an AWESOME book. I'm almost halfway through it already, and I started it yesterday morning. Yes, I love to read, and I do read quite fast, but the point is I've been unable to put it down. I can't express in words what makes it so amazing, but just trust me. You will be captivated once you begin reading it. It's a great read. I may rent the movie after I finish the book, just to see if they managed to pull it off.
Well, that's all the news I had to report at the moment. I will be rather busy over the next couple of weeks, since I have three papers due in three different classes, all for the same teacher, all within like, a day or two of each other. So I'll do what I can, but don't be surprised if you don't hear from me for a day or two. =P
Until next time,
TheFallenAngel
P.S. -- Still working on the next episode of Doodles Mcgee!! =)
