Bananas @ MindSay

It's worth noting that, amidst the cool rain and breeziness, this is the first day in a while where I've felt really good - about health, energy, and life in general.  A lot of the time I'm stressing about unemployment, or sneezing my brains out with allergies, or groggy from allergy pills.  Add to that general boredom and worry about life and a lot of the time I don't know where my head's at.  But today has felt good and the forecast looks good (well, the forecast looks like rain - again - but in my head it's pretty good.  It's a metaphorical forecast.  A metaphorcast.)

I've been keeping up my creative energy by devoting a lot of time to my occasional Webcomic project, Regular Guy.  It's a sort of real-world fantasy adventure series featuring a dry, average dude as the hero.  Hopefully you'll check it out and find it amusing.

Keep on rockin'

PS - "arrousingly good time" is one of those awesome random tag suggestions that seem to come up from time to time and have nothing to do with the actual content of the post.  Next time I'm having a really good time (as in, probably drunk) I'm definitely going to describe it out loud as "arrousingly good" and marvel as people fail to understand the reference.  And then I'll watch as people walk away while I try to explain it.  Ah, life.  KOR.

New obsession: Banana Shakes!

Okay, so I'm home alone, I've got my period, and I'm hungering for sweets. I'm bored, so what do I do?

I TAKE OUT MAH BLENDER!

My Spanish teacher told me about how she used to drink Banana shakes back in El Salvador and I thought... FUCK YES!

So I remove my blender from its tomb, from which it has not emerged for at least 4 months (My mom doesn't find a need for it very much...) I say to myself, "Hey, I have a banana, I have milk, I have ice, lets fuck this blender's balls off!"

A cup of ice, 2 cups of milk, 1/2 of a banana, a tablespoon of sugar, and a human foot, blend, blend blend.

Now I'm sitting here with a tall glass of something that is so delicious, it must be God's penis juice. (It IS white, after all)

It's like having box seats to a performance of Wicked!

Poor Sense Of Smell Could Indicate Alzheimer's
Difficulty identifying common smells such as lemon, banana and cinnamon may be the first sign of Alzheimer’s disease, according to a study that could lead to scratch-and-sniff tests to determine a person’s risk for the progressive brain disorder.

Such tests could be important if scientists find ways to slow or stop Alzheimer’s and the severe memory loss associated with it. For now, there’s no cure for the more than 5 million Americans with the disease.

Φωλιά πουλιού (Greek)

Ipyana-

Ipyana has never liked bananas...He has been warming up to them lately... I just keep persisting. Then... I got out a banana and he lunged towards it before it was even peeled and said "MMMMM!" When I got it peeled, he took a huge chunk out of it like he has been waiting all day for this treat. I have always had the bananas sitting out on the counter, but recently, I have had them in the refridgerator. They get soooo cold, almost frozen. He really loves it this way! He definately looks forward to it. Since he hasnt been breaking anymore blood feathers, I have decided to SLOWLY introduce more perches and toys. When he was having the blood feather problem I had to really restrict the toys and perches in his cage, and play with them outside the cage instead. So I put in a cuttlebone perch and he loves it. It isnt his favorite but he will sometimes perch on it for a change of pace. But if there has been one thing that I have learned about Ipyana, is to go in slow motion concerning introducing toys, perches, etc. June has no problem with this what so ever. If I put a new toy in or something, he just stays away from it.. and then curiousity gets the best of him. Ipyana has his curious side to him also.... sometimes more so than June. Even though Ipyana is very tame and laid back.... he loves to get into things he isnt suppose to. Cords really get his attention, like the cord to my earpiece on my phone. I take the precations of making sure there isnt any around him. If he eyes one and you trie to remove it, he tries to bite. Ipyana hasnt learned his full potential in biting yet.  Smiley He nibbles. Which I dont understand why he does this.... June realized he could bite hard before now. Ipyana is a more scared bird though, so that may make all the difference.

June-

June has his good days and his bad ones, like anyone else... Today was a good one. He was playful and full of energy. When he whistles, it is sooo low toned, like hes afraid that someone will scorn him. He almost whispers his whistles.... but maybe I am just sooo used to Ipyana belting out a tune and overriding any other noises in the background. Then again, when June whistles, he does get scorned... by Ipyana. After June starts whistling, Ipyana will start screaming  until June stops, and gives up. I encourage him to keep whistling, and he is comming around to the idea of not being over shouted.
