When I grow up, I wanna be...
I was just thinking today of back when I was younger all the things I always wanted to be and it made me kind of laugh.

I remember being really small, maybe eight-ish? And had watched Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome and had decided I was gonna change my name to Max Traxx ('cause it sounded so awesome back then, heheh) and be a renegade.

Later I decided after I discovered Super Mario Bros. that I was going to make games with Nintendo when I grew up when I was about 10.  I actually stuck with that until I was about 16 when I discovered genetics.  I knew then that wanted to get a degree in microbiology and/or genetics, and knew that I'd be able to be the first scientist to achieve immortality with the aide of a well manufactured retro virus and knowledge of the right amino acids after they mapped the human genome... god, what I a geek I was (or am, :P)!

After high school, having the great parents I had I tried my hand as an author and started writing a book.  Got pretty far too, about 318 pages before I had accidentally deleted it one night.  Reformatted my computer because it was on the fritz, unfortunately I was a little buzzed and totally forgot about the book.  Had the beginning of it on a disc but had stopped saving it regularly after about 100 pages... don't know why.

Then I packed up what I could and gave the rest away, driving out to California to make a new start.  After working for only a while, I decided I was going to join the military and live a life of adventure.  Yeah... only lasted about nine months.

All these dreams and all I've got to show for it are two effing cats! :P

That and the love of my life... but thats it!

Reawakening Dormant Dreams

When was the last time you took a moment to think about and ponder your own dreams, desires and aspirations? That's what I thought.

Life has a way of getting in the way at times. Busy schedules, raising our kids, balancing our personal and business relationships and responsibilities...life gets a bit overwhelming at times, does it not?

All too soon our little ones will flee the nest we have created for them and will move on to lives of their own. If you are like me, in your mind you feel that this will be the opportune time to pursue those passions that have been laying dormant for so many years. This may be true, but you don't have to give up dreaming, planning and beginning to pursue your own authentic passions!

While our lives revolve around the needs of others most of the time, we need to at least occassionally think about our own dreams and goals. You may have no choice but to take it slow for now, but I urge you to make yourself a priority and that includes reawakening those dreams you have forsaken.

Your dreams need not lay dormant until the perfect opportunity arrives for you to move forward in your efforts to acheive your own personal goals. As we all are all to aware, the perfect time in all liklihood will never present itself.

So, I urge you today to think about those long lost dreams you put by the wayside as the chaos of everyday life took over.

Dare to dream again.

What dreams of your own lay dormant that need to be reawakened? There is no better time than the present. The choice is yours, my friends!

I Need Money
I just got done watching IFC's Dinner For Five with Roger Corman, Jon Favreau, some comedian whose name escapes me, Bruce Campbell and Rob Zombie on youtube.com. Before today, I don't recall ever hearing of this show but after watching the few segments I could during lunch, I got a crazy idea that will probaly never work, but it's one of a list of desires and long-shot goals of mine.

I want to open an independent theatre, preferably on the south side of Chicago or in the south suburbs. I want to have a place where I can show any movies I want from Scarface to Suspiria and everything in between, foreign films included and everything unrated and uncut. I want to host theme nights like Al Pacino Fest or The Naked Gun Trilogy and maybe even host stand-up comics, indie film festivals and special appearances.

I have no idea how to go about starting a business but this is something I would love to do, even if it meant holding down a regular job during the day. It's times like this that I wish I could win the lottery.

A day in the office

Hi all office workers !

How's your day in your boring, routine office environment ?

I've been working for 10 years after my graduation and I gradually found out that an office life is not much different to those in the Dilbert's workplace. But it's always hilarious to look back at those boring lives and then we realised that we can't live like a Hollywood celeb. But ordinaty people too can find out what's really fun around.
