Angioedema @ MindSay

My Body Has Turned Against Me
I have
this pesky little condition that's known as ANGIOEDEMA (Duh-duh-duh!!!).
ANGIOEDEMA (Duh-duh-duh!!!) causes an uncomfortable and disfiguring type of temporary swelling of the lips, mouth, eyes, hands, feet and genitals area. It also causes hive like swelling on the rest of the body. At its worst ANGIOEDEMA (Duh-duh-duh!!!) is life-threatening if swelling in your mouth or throat makes it difficult for you to breathe. I have had moments where my tongue swells and I have a hard time swallowing but I've yet to have trouble breathing thankfully.

There are different types of ANGIOEDEMA (Duh-duh-duh!!!):

Acute, which only lasts a short time (an hour to a day) and doesn't usually come back and Chronic which means it keeps coming back.

Lucky me I have the latter version. In addition to being a recurring problem my case is also what's called idiopathic, which means the doctors can't pinpoint exactly what's causing it so to be safe I have been instructed to lay off caffeine, all processed foods, use hypo-allergenic soaps and laundry detergents, no nuts, no fish or shellfish, blah, blah, blah, basically I can't come in contact with anything thast not fresh off the vine. Its like I'm the "Boy in the Bubble" without getting to live in a cool plastic environment or my very own Afterschool Special.

Anyhoo this informative blog session is a direct result of my being afflicted with my little ailment right now which means I'm trapped at home on a balmy Saturday and bored out of my skull.

Cry for me Argentina. Cry a river of pity tears.
