American Accent @ MindSay

El Salvadore
There's a lady at my work who comes from El Salvadore. She has a spanish accent and she was telling us about a conversation with this lady:

Lady1: Where are you from?
Lady2: El Salvadore.
Lady1: Oh, where's that?
Lady2: It's in Central America.
Lady1: But you don't have an American accent!

...

Lady2: We speak Spanish there.
Lady1: Oh, I've always wanted to go to Spain!
Lady2: Yeah, me too.
(Lady1 gets confused and changes the subject.)

Your Result: Philadelphia

Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.

My American Accent
I saw this quiz on a blog that I enjoy, and I thought I'd try it out.
What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

What American accent do you have? Quiz Created on GoToQuiz
I used to have a southern accent, but after years living here and there I guess I am just a plain old midlander. Actually, I tend to pick up the accents of the people I am around. So while living in Canada, everyone was confused when I said I was American. Here in China I have a British friend, so I speak Madonna-esque at times. Other times I pull out a slightly North Jersey accent, I guess from too many mafia movies.
