Kobe Will Play In All-Star Game Despite Injury
I can't believe the Los Angeles Lakers are actually ok with this.

Despite suffering a torn tendon and broken bone in his pinkie, Kobe Bryant will play in Sunday night's NBA All-Star Game, according to a Lakers spokesperson.

Bryant suffered the injury -- initially described as a dislocated pinkie -- on Feb. 5 against New Jersey. The Lakers disclosed Thursday that the damage was more extensive than first thought. The injury included a torn radial collateral ligament and an avulsion fracture in the pinkie.

Well, It's In The Bank
I think it's long overdue for me to do a Thoughts Of Randomosity blog:

- Flight Of The Conchords is fast becoming my reason for living. I cannot get "dick meeting" out of my head. I sit at my desk, say "ginger balls" to myself and start laughing out loud.

- I was originally leaning towards watching The Bronx Is Burning on ESPN but I'm starting to
decide that I don't care. I'm so sick of hearing about the New York Yankees on that station. I'd rather just not watch ESPN at all.

- The All-Star game was actually pretty decent this year. Jose Reyes is easily one of the most exciting players in baseball right now. The Mets can have like 7 Sox players for him right now. Also, it was no surprise to me to see Alex Rodriguez turn in such a mediocre performance once again. For a guy that the media just gushes over, he made almost no difference in the game's outcome once again. When he helps a team win it all, then I'll nod in agreement. Until then, I'll just say "yes, he's good" and maintain that he's overrated.

- "Dick meeting"......still hilarious to me.

- I wish more stores carried games for Macintosh. The closest places that do are at least 45 minutes to an hour away from me. Annoying. I want Age Of Empires 3. I might just break down after I graduate and buy an inexpensive Windows laptop for gaming.

- I hate fruit flies....a lot.

What Is Wrong With The National League?
I'm watching baseball's all-star game.  I got all excited when the National League got an early lead, but I guess my excitement was premature...they're losing 3-1 now.  It's been so long since they've won the all-star game, I'm beginning to lose hope.  It's not like there's a scarcity of talent....they've got plenty of awesome players.  They just can't manage to win.

Vlad Guerrero won the home run derby last night.  I miss him being in the national league.

For Anyone Who Likes Hockey
I actually have the night off, on the night of the NHL all-star game.  :)  I was checking the listings to see what channel it's on, and it's on Versus.  WTF?!?  I didn't even know that was a channel!

I know that hockey is not an incredibly popular sport, but they can't even show it on ESPN2 or FOX Sports or something?  Geez.

Buck O'Neil To Play In Minor League All-Star Game

John Jordan "Buck" O'Neil, who played baseball during an era of segregation.  Tonight he will play for the Kansas City T-Bones, who signed him to a one-day contract.

Did I mention that Buck O'Nel is now 94 years old?  This will likely make him the oldest professional baseball player. He would surpass 83-year-old Jim Eriotes, who struck out in a minor league game in South Dakota earlier this month, by more than a decade.

"I imagine the bat's a little heavier than that club I've been swinging," said O'Neil, who maintains he can still shoot his age in golf. "It's been a long time since I've picked up a bat."

Nobody disputes that O'Neil's involvement in the game borders on a gimmick. But his supporters hope it also provides a boost in their quest to get him into Cooperstown.

In May, a special 12-member panel did not choose O'Neil for the Hall of Fame, though it did vote in 17 people from the Negro Leagues and pre-Negro Leagues eras.
