Al Gore @ MindSay
So.. here in Spokane we're working on a couple feet of snow, EASILY, and where's Al Gore??? That dirty phony is hiding in his house in the south where global warming is really taking an effect......... Oh no.. since there's a big storm, that means that global warming is making the climate snow more!! Global warming is causing more snow! Oh No!!! Its colder because its warmer! Where are you Al?? People are stuck in their homes, come melt the snow with the hot air you blow around! AAH! Its freakin cold too. But whatever.
Global warming? HOAX. Don't big Al tell you its happening when there are about as many scientists saying its not our fault as are saying it is. I hope CNN tells you all that snow is caused by global warming. So I can laugh.

The Best There IS, Be Excellent
Alan Caruba, in a piece titled The High Cost of Climate Lies, which is available at http://www.usadaily.com/article.cfm?articleID=132147 tries to counter the claim that human action is responsible in some measure for climate change. He cites a number of scientists who are critical of this claim. One of them is Dr. Vincent Gray, a New Zealand-based climate scientist, but the reasoning he cites is very curious. Dr. Gray, he writes, claims that “No average temperature of any part of the earth’s surface, over any period, has ever been made.” And so, “If the earth’s “average temperature” cannot be determined, how can you know that it’s dramatically heating? How can you predict anything about an unknown?”
The curious thing about this reasoning is that averages are phantom numbers that nothing ever depends upon. What matters so far as climate change is concerned is not whether the average temperature of the earth is rising, but whether the temperature at the poles and on mountain tops where glaciers are locates are rising. For if the ice and snow at these places melts away, humanity is in for some difficult times. That a recognized scientist should make a claim based on the unknown average temperature of the earth is dubious at best. Either Mr. Caruba has misunderstood Dr. Gray’s claims or Dr. Gray’s recognition as a prominent scientist is questionable.
That the earth’s average temperature is irrelevant can easily be demonstrated. Consider the following sequence of ten terms: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. The average of this sequence is 5.5. Now consider this sequence: 3, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 7, 6, 4, 3. The average of this sequence is also 5.5. Now suppose the first and last terms in the both sequences represent the temperature at the poles before and after global warming was noticed. Clearly, the temperature at the poles has risen while the average temperature has remained the same. As a matter of fact, it is easy to show that the temperature at the poles can have risen while the average has gone down. Look at this sequence: 3, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 7, 5, 4, 3. When this sequence is compared to the first, the terms representing the temperature at the poles have risen but the average had decreased to 5.1. Certainly any reputable scientist would understand enough about averages to have known the point that I have just demonstrated.
Mr. Caruba then writes this: “The IPCC has depended on computer climate models for its claims and there is now a volume of papers demonstrating how they have repeatedly been proven to be inaccurate. As Dr. Gray points out, if you cannot validate these models as actually capable of making predictions, ‘no self-respecting computer engineer would dare to make use of a model for prediction.’”
But think about this for a moment. The National Weather Service uses computer models, absolutely none of which is accurate, to predict the weather. Yet those predictions, while never absolutely accurate are certainly useful. All of us rely on them every day. They tell us when to carry raincoats and umbrellas, when to wear heavier clothing, when to get sanding trucks and snowplows ready, even when to evacuate people from areas threatened by hurricanes. Would it be reasonable for anyone to suggest that we should abandon these predictions because the models “have repeatedly been proven to be inaccurate”?
It has always been a puzzle to me why people who are successful in some intellectual professions such as some branches of the physical sciences and all branches of the social sciences can engage is egregious reasoning when a thesis contradicts their cherished beliefs. Examples of such reasoning are easy to find, especially when the theses these “scientists” find objectionable have economic consequences. The critics of global warming are all worried about the costs of making the societal changes that countering global warming requires, but they refuse to even consider the costs that will be incurred if global warming is real and nothing is done to reduce or stem it. These people, somehow or another, allow ideology to trump reason.
No one knows for sure, of course, what the cause of global warming is. Is global warming caused merely by changes in the earth or the solar system over which we have no control, or is it caused by the huge amount of greenhouse gasses that we have been pumping into the atmosphere? No one knows, but we’d better hope that our practices are at least a major part of the problem, for if they aren’t, life on this planet may be doomed.
©2007 John Kozy, Jr.Last week I shared with you my idea of requiring the U.S. Postal Service to place recycling bins in their facilities for the depositing of unwanted sales papers and other junk mail. I also shared that of all the elected officials I had contacted concerning this, the only one to respond was Sen. Elizabeth Dole. I stated that I hadn’t expected much from her or Sen. Richard Burr, meaning that the Republican Party isn’t synonymous with environmentalism. I now believe that I spoke too soon as far as Sen. Burr is concerned.
I suppose I should have been more optimistic about Burr. After all, he had already served the people of North Carolina for ten years in the U.S. House while Sen. Dole took the Hillary Clinton carpetbagger route to the Senate (yes, I know she was born in North Carolina, but nearly 40 years in Washington, D.C. and Kansas, a North Carolinian do not make).
Dole’s letter to me began, “Thank you so much for taking time to write to me with your concerns. Receiving your ideas and concerns is so important in order for me to represent you, and our state, to the best of my ability in the United States Senate.”
Okay. So far, so good.
She continued, “The issue you describe is indeed important and deserves review. I very much appreciate you sharing your opinions and thoughts with me regarding this matter. Please be assured that I will keep your insights in mind should pertinent legislation be considered in the Senate.”
Now I’m no expert on Senate procedure, but as a senator, couldn’t she introduce the pertinent legislation herself?
She concluded, “Thank you again for taking the time to share your ideas and concerns. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.”
Further assistance? She wasn’t of any assistance! The only thing we established is that she’s thankful I wasted my time on her.
I received Sen. Burr’s reply over the weekend. While he did take three months to get back to me, his letter was a lot more positive.
“Thank you for contacting me about requiring recycling bins in the Post Office. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this issue.”
I like that he specified the issue, which indicates that he actually read my letter and took the time to respond instead of signing off on a form letter.
He continued, “I certainly understand how frustrating it can be to open a mail box only to find it packed with advertisements and other junk mail. I also recognize the amount of waste associated with this issue. Your solution to the problem makes a whole lot of sense. In fact, I have asked my staff to inquire with the Postal Service to see if it has any plans to provide recycling bins in local branches.”
Isn’t that a whole lot better response than that drivel I received from Sen. Dole? Okay, so it’s doubtful Sen. Burr is another Al Gore when it comes to environmental issues (that’s not necessarily a bad thing), and his response in no way guarantees a solution to the problem, but at least he recognizes there is a problem and is willing to try and do something about it...unlike his senior colleague.
I apologize to my readers, and to Sen. Burr, for jumping to the wrong conclusion and disparaging his constituent service without his having a chance to respond to me. Hopefully with his help, something good might yet come from the nightmare of junk mail.

Move Over, Osama!
There's A New Kid On The Blockby Mark Harris, National Political Digest.com
It is very disappointing that even President Bush is tiptoeing over the line with his recent pronouncements about “global warming”, which by implication suggests a man made cause. When you couple this with the recent ruling by the Supreme Court on co2 gas, the “new religion” is becoming more problematic for the nation and the world. With the majority opinion written by the never surprising Justice Stevens, it suggests the intellectual bottle in which five-ninths of this august group prefer to cork their minds. It cries for a mass resignation on their part followed by probably forming their own little club to save disenfranchised whales.
Through the centuries, there have been countless wars. The untold deaths, destruction and cruelty are marked in history. The assault on the civilized world by Osama bin Laden is the most notable of late. His followers and clones seem to enjoy the infliction of pain and death all in the name of Allah. Even though his victims are relatively small in number, the brutality of each event, especially on the innocent, will in time bring its comparative fury to the upper ranks of the wartime pantheon. As an aside, dear readers, this religious debauchery will last for decades to come. There might be a cure out there, but it is not anywhere in the near future. You smooth the feathers of 9/11 at your very peril, and your children’s children.
On a different front, through the past number of years, another type of enemy has been rearing its ugly head. This enemy is cunning, lacking in conscience and determined. The titular mouthpiece has been self-anointed. I call him “Al Gorebal”. Sounds a little like Goebbels, doesn’t it? Joseph was the Minister of Propaganda for the Nazi Third Reich before and during World War II. In his own way Al is just as sinister. The “Gorebal Warning” spewed by him and his like minded minions is gaining steam. Pardon the “cool” pun, but these feckless and unsubstantiated claims are beginning to snowball.
The faithful are preaching that the earth’s temperature is rising. The fact that you can’t actually measure earth's average temperature for today, one hundred years ago, even ten years ago, doesn’t seem to dissuade the echo of the blind leading the blind. Leaving out the "Hockey Stick graph" separates the transmission from the engine in all of their models of false predictions. This omission leaves out a large and very important segment of the planet’s history. By the way, have you ever checked next week’s weather prediction with reality?
Migration of roaches in Australia is blamed on global warming. Big deal! Ever tried renting an apartment in New Orleans, say, in the last one hundred years or so? You’ll see how the little buggers migrate. Unless, maybe Katrina drowned them out. And by the way, the storm was blamed on global warming.
One of the most extremist “Gorebal Warnings” is that sea levels will rise dramatically. Actually, they have been rising since the last ice age. But never mind that inconvenient fact. I wonder how many coal-fired electric plants were operating in the year 100,000 B.C.? Probably not a great number of SUV’s either.
Polar bears are having a problem, too. It is being suggested that they be put on the “Endangered Species List”. Funny that of the 13 conglomerates of bears in Canada, 11 are absolutely thriving. There is so much confusion and misinformation that it boggles the mind. It is time to introduce a new word in today’s lexicon; libthink.
lib'-think: the perversion of the Constitution; the mockery of democracy; the combination of 1 part socialism and 1 part communism; the controlling of the vast majority by a small elite through destructive government policies; the manipulation and distortion of the truth; the using of half truths to ensnare, gain sympathy and evoke guilt; to be a member of most of the Democrat leadership; to lie for the sheer benefit of power without regard for what is best for the nation.
David Geffen recently uttered his opinion of the Clinton's veracity, but he fell short of the millions around the world he should have been describing, including Al Gore. You know, “ole invent the Internet Al”. Some of you must remember his tear jerking story about his dying sister. He told it at his and Bill’s first convention. His sister had died from lung cancer. He swore to spend the rest of his life working toward stopping all of us infidels from smoking. He “conveniently” left out the part about his leasing land to tobacco growers at the same time. Just a slip. Then, of course, there’s that pesky little zinc mine on the farm in Tennessee. It’s the one that lifts tons of polluting material up into what used to be safe sky. Don’t really need to mention the fuel use in the mansion in Nashville, do we? Oh, that’s right! He buys carbon offsets. Doesn’t matter that he owns the company they come from. Nothing fishy here. They don’t make a shoe that will fit his “footprint”. But he’s got a mouth that will take it; the foot, anyway. Al is certainly the flower of the environmentalists. Hey, he’s got an Oscar! He’s nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize! Very simply put, folks, this is not a half full nor a half empty crock. It’s just a crock!
Gore is not the only libthinker in this “new religion”. He is joined by the so-called mainstream media, scientists who are paid by the environmentalist lobby, scientists and individual citizens who are afraid of being called “deniers”, and of course, the libthinkers in the U.S. Congress. The last group can hardly wait to get their staffs working on legislation ad infinitum.
“Global Warming” is but another example of the many other whore daughters of liberalism. The “War on Poverty”, food stamps, the United Nations, the Publika Skool System, (sounds a little socialistic or maybe communistic, doesn’t it?) etc., are just others of the sisterhood. Remember, it is not the program or institution that matters. The substance is inconsequential, so long as it takes from the haves and distributes to the have nots, with the power remaining in the hands of the libthinkers. This house of prostitution is simply the rack on which to hang their “white priestly collars” while they blast sermons of falsities to create fear, guilt and enslavement.
Try what I call the "Google Test”. You need to go surfing. Each time you hear or read one of the latest, (they show up almost every moment), manmade “global warming” scares, Google it. See how far down the page or pages you have to go to find anything that might contradict the proposition. We do have one man who rates a five star on any Google Test. His name is Jim Inhofe, Senator, Republican, Oklahoma. He sits as a giant next to Babbling Boxer on the Environmental Committee. He is to be highly lauded for his unswerving commitment and tenacity in debunking every “global warming crock” that comes along.
I warn conservative Republicans and the few Democrats that if you don’t join in lock step with the aforementioned senator and battle this insipid, libthink conspiracy at this stage, you will be fighting both Osama and the “antichrist of global warning” in true earnest before the proverbial Titanic runs into the melting iceberg!

On the Warcraft front, I'm still stuck in Khranos. I got to level 9 but I spent way too much time fighting these trolls last night. It got my XP hella high but at the same time, I died about 12 times and running back and forth from the graveyard sucks when it's that far away. Boo to that. I'm going to stick to some mild meat and beer runs tonight.
Also, I emailed Grampire some meat. I just think it's hilarious that you can send someone meat.
On last thing, King Crimson is still amazing.
