Tune In To Our Next Installment of "Drama Queens At Work"
This is another rant about work. In fact, this rant is about the same person at work. My boss asked me to review a large memo this person did before sending it out because lately, everything this person has touched has turned to shit. Since I am technically the "junior" employee to her more experienced "senior" employee, I asked our adminstrative assistant to request the memo in a noncommital way, hoping that the senior person would not ask why she wanted it. Fat chance. She said that our boss told her to send it out and it didn't need to be reviewed. So, of course, I had to call her and explain that yes, our boss did ask that I review it. Then I had to hear about how she has "18 years experience" and that she looked at it thoroughly and is completely confident that all relevant information is included. What I wanted to say to her was "Yes, you have 18 years experience and you are still a monumental fuck up who can't think her way out of a paper bag." Instead, I said "Well, with larger memos we often review each other's work because it is helpful to have a fresh pair of eyes." WTF! She gave it to me begrudgingly, but I am sure this will cause additional drama on Monday. Sigh.

Brief Rant

I have two friends, S and R, whose birthdays are both in May. S's is first, on the 12th, and R's is second, on the 21st. Unfortunately, R is a bit... self-involved, so S's b-day usually gets overshadowed by R's. I try my best to make sure that S gets equal birthday attention, but it is always a bit unequal. We have learned to accept this. So, I got a call on Friday from R, supposedly to talk about S's birthday. However, talk quickly turned to R's birthday, and she said the following: "You know, I was thinking about my birthday, since it's coming up on the 21st."

My response: "Uh huh."

"And I was thinking about doing afternoon tea, and then maybe dinner."

"Uh huh."

"And the 21st is on a Monday this year."

"Uh huh."

"So, do you want to take off the 21st so we can do my birthday?"

"Uh, no."

"Why?" (said in a petulant tone of voice)

"Because Monday is the busiest day of the week and I cannot take the day off. I assumed we would do your birthday on the weekend before."

"Oh."

"We can talk about what you want to do, and I would be happy to do tea and dinner, but I can't take Monday off."

"You know, its kind of loud in here and I can't hear you very well. Let me give you a call later."

And that's how we left it. So, is it just me, or does that seem more than a little over the top? Hell, I don't even take the day off for my birthday! Grrrr!

Losing my patience..........
I tried my hardest not to write about the drama between my friend "Forrest" & I.  However he's really getting on my nerves.  I can't pinpoint anything specific but things that were so endearing to me are not so cute anymore.  He is very full of himself & seems like he's becoming annoyingly cocky.  He used to joke around about being a God but he's coming off as an asshole.  I'm sick of listening to him talk about, well, himself.  He never asks how things are going with me anymore.  I find myself cutting my conversations with him short.  He drunk dialed me this weekend.  He wasn't obnoxious or belligerant (sp.) but he called me at least 5 times between 10pm & 2:30am.  He knew I was up getting last minute things done & I finally told him I wouldn't be answering my phone.  I've been distancing myself from him but can't (or don't want to) sever all ties from him since he is one person I can talk freely to.  Don't know what the point of this is but I feel better.

Frustration, aggravation

Don't you ever just feel like shouting FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKING A.....

yes, that's my motto and slogan for the day.  Very frustrated at work, doing a million things at once, learning new things, trying not to mess up and so on.

don't order from thebodyshop.com
on january 5th, i placed an order for a bunch of stuff that was on sale, and a couple things that weren't.  i was excited because it was some of my favorite stuff and it was a good deal.

this is what i ordered:

Cranberry Kit 2 @ $3.00 (Sale Price)
Nut Gift 1 @ $12.00 (Sale Price)
Milk Body Lotion 1 @ $6.00 (Sale Price)
Milk Soap 1 @ $3.00 (Sale Price)
Silver Tranquility Aroma Jar 1 @ $6.00 (Sale Price)
Cranberry Home Fragrance Oil 1 @ $3.00 (Sale Price)
Moonflower Home Fragrance Oil 1 @ $3.00 (Sale Price)
Satsuma Duo Gift 2 @ $4.00 (Sale Price)
Juice It Mango & Peach Bath & Shower Gel $4.00
Unscented Tea Lights - Pack of 25 $6.00

Subtotal $57.00
Discount $5.70
Shipping $0.00
Tax      $4.08
---------------

Total $55.38

so days later, i don't get an email saying it's been shipped.  i check their site, and it says it was "processing."  it "processed for TWELVE days before it was shipped.  i called customer service a couple times to ask what was going on - i wanted to know if it was cancelled, if they were out of stock, whatever.  they told me it was a technological problem but to not worry, my stuff would ship soon, and...i believed them.

FINALLY, i got an email saying my order shipped.  the email said EVERYTHING shipped, and while i waited for ups to take their time like they always do, i didn't receive any emails saying some items were no longer available and i'd receive a credit.  i heard nothing.

today, my stuff arrived.  yay!  or not... i saw the box and it was itty bitty.  i knew all my stuff wouldn't fit in that small box.  opened it up to find that only 3 of the things i ordered were shipped.  THREE!  (the aroma jar thing, the cranberry home fragrance oil and the milk soap)

i called customer service yet again and i got the same technological problem explanation and the whole "that's why there's the 20% off your next online order letter in the box" schpeal...but see, the thing is, my invoice included in the box actually has FOUR other things on it that weren't included!  and the girl had no idea (it wasn't reflected upon my account) - it showed i was being credited for some of the things not shipped (not listed on the invoice) but that the rest should have been in the box.

yeah, well, they weren't.

and then she told me that because of the delay of "processing" my order, the things i ordered became out of stock.  huh?  how does that happen?  if i ORDER something, it should reduce their number of IN STOCK items by the number i order, don't you think???

anyway, i'm REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY frustrated, and of COURSE, it's going to take 7-9 business days to receive my credit for the items i didn't get...

20% off their ONLINE store...whatever...like i'm going to order from them again!  what's the point??  they could have more "technological difficulties" or their website may not reflect what is actually in stock when i order it.  and god knows they're not going to tell me one thing about it ON THEIR OWN...

so i say, friends, if you want body shop products, go to your local store to buy them because their internet "store" is crap.  at least to me.  and could be to you, too.

ARGH!!!
