or Why I am Atheist

There's always this talk about achieving world peace. It's probably the most abused phrase in the whole of creation. I often wonder why God, in all his wonder and awesomeness did not include this itsy tiny bit in the whole package. Now what we have are people killing people. And as time progressed, so did our creativity in inflicting pain and suffering towards others.
They (the Catholic Church, evangelicals, charismatics, etc) always say that all of this is just a test for God to see if we truly are deserving of our place in heaven. So he's up there right now, watching all these killings and sufferings and what does he do about it? Nothing. Because the cocksucker wants to find out if we truly are deserving to be with him for all eternity.
This is just plain fucking stupid. If that is true, if God truly exists, then the least that I can say about him is that he is an insolent obnoxious asshole who has a twisted morality. Yep, that's what he is. And I give him the opportunity right now, right at this moment to smite me for all this blasphemy, and for future ones to come.
Personally, I would not even think of getting near a person like him. Talk about omniscience, eh? Knowledge about all the things that have and will happen. Why can't he use that?
And then there's the Bible. Just what the fuck is it all about? I think that the Bible is the filthiest piece of garbage there is. I've read much more enlightening stuff. Crazy religious folks (CRFs) hold on to its words like its giving them an orgasm or something.
Maybe people subscribe to this bullshit because of fear. They think that they do not want to go to hell. They think that being all burned up in eternity forever with Satan in the lake of fire, is something that's really terrible. They don't want God's wrath to descend upon them, they think that damnation really sucks.
Personally, I don't think that's the most terrible thing that can happen. I am a TVaddict and I'm telling you, the stuff that I see on the news everyday is far more horrible than all that damnation stuff.
Children on Africa dying of AIDS and hunger in extreme misery. Young girls, 3, 4, 5, years old being raped by an entire squad of soldiers. And these kids, if they're lucky, are left to live. I once heard of something called a fistula. Children in their early teens get pregnant, and because their vaginas are still too small, it would tear in childbirth and complications would occur, involuntary urination and defecation would result, that is if they survive. And more often, the infant, being squeezed up and all that trauma, would not survive the birth.
And all these stupidities are repeated again and again in the history of mankind. Dumb monkeys, stupid fucks, retarded assholes that people are, I honestly cannot see any ray of hope.
We're already in hell. We just don't realize it yet.
Religion is founded upon the concepts of good and evil.
As I explained in part of a previous blog, I believe that 'good' and 'evil' are imaginary inventions. There are no such things as "good people" or "evil people".
Religion requires such concepts to exist, because otherwise how can there be a 'heaven' or a 'hell'? Surely there must be a clear delineation between 'good' people and 'bad' people. I am certain, however, that there is no such delineation. Yes, the Catholics invented purgatory to sort of explain this problem. (Funny how now it seems that everyone bar the saints and Judas Iscariot ends up in purgatory. Oh, and don't forget the little children. Hey, what about aborted babies... oops, shouldn't have gone there.)
But you see, if just about everybody gets to 'heaven' eventually, what's the point of an afterlife anyway? Isn't that what the afterlife is all about, a judgement between good and evil? What's the point of a system where God says "OK, everyone gets to come back to life now..."? That's just an afterlife for the sake of an afterlife, because we're frightened of eternal non-existence.
Without an afterlife, religion is suddenly pretty futile. I guess there could be an alternative where you could be rewarded during your life time for 'good deeds'... in other words, "karma". Once again however, this karma is dependent on how you act towards others - and it's clear that how we act is determined by our genes, upbringing and surroundings, things we have no control over (see my 'humility' post). Therefore, karma rewards you for being lucky.
God: "Hey dude!"
Dude: "Hey!"
God: "Because of your bad family upbringing, combined with lack of self-control and intelligence which led you to abuse drugs, and steal that old lady's wallet, you've won one free amount of BAD KARMA!"
Dude: "Thanks, I really needed that."
God: "Good. I'm now off to Madonna's house to give her some GOOD KARMA because she spent a small percent of her income on charity."
So if there's no afterlife, and no karma, the whole reason for a god is completely gone. Why should I believe in God? I am 'believing' in something which has absolutely no relation whatsoever to my life.
I am not ruling out the possibility that there could be an intelligent being/spirit/force who created everything - I am simply saying that the whole concept of Christianity, as well as other religions, is completely flawed.
eyesthebye recommended a book to me when I was wondering about cavemen called Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel. I'm only about 90 pages in, but it's really really good and I'm enjoying it.
What it's got me thinking about is Neanderthal man (man as in mankind, not just men), and how they found evidence that he believed in an afterlife. They found graves with artifacts, weapons, tools, flower pollen, etc and deduced that he was buried with these things because his people thought he would need them again.
But what happened to make them believe in an afterlife? Did they think they saw someone who had died alive again? Some event had to have happened to make them think this. I want to know what it was, but chances are I wont ever find out. But I can speculate and I damn sure will once I've given it some more thought.
I wonder if they thought animals had an afterlife. I would think so, since they buried him with his weapons. I mean, he wouldn't hunt the animals that were alive like the people he left behind would they? I wonder if they thought he would be fighting the dead animals? Maybe the ones they had killed and sent to the afterlife.
Any thoughts?
That's right, instead of having our waste filling up our sewers, with this toilet, it'll be sent straight down to you-know-where!
When I dreamt about this toilet, my dream-self objected, but people live down there!
Still, an interesting topic for a horror story, don't you think?
