What's the meaning of life? Spiritual Growth! We are tested and then we grow.
This prayer, revealed by 'Abdu'l-Baha, is great for everyone, all the time!

"O God!
Refresh and gladden my spirit.
Purify my heart.
Illumine my powers.
I lay all my affairs in Thy hand.
I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved;
I will be a happy and joyful being.
O God!
I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me.
I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.
O God!
Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself.
I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord."
                                                        --'Abdu'l-Baha

This is my new motto for life! From it i have created my own daily affirmation:
"O God!  I lay all my affairs in Thy hand.  I am a happy and joyful being. I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord."

What does it for you?
Everyone needs affirmation.  In some way.  I was just wondering what REALLY acts as true affirmation for different folks.

What does it for you?  What do you have to experience in terms of affirmation to satisfy your need for it?

Perspective!

What is a bad thing anyway? A bad thing is something that is different than what I want. Who gets to decide what the bad thing is? Jerry and Esther watched the mother bird lay her eggs in the nest, and then the neighbor's cat ate the baby bird. Esther said "bad cat!" And the cat said, "good bird!"

A Lightworker Affirmation / Reminder - that has clout and wings!

Here's a great start for March blogs - with a storm just starting to roll into our region - March coming in like a lion -  I thought I'd share this, which assists me greatly when caught up in an emotional "storm"! It was shared by a friend elsewhere and it's usefullness makes it's "presents" catapulted across the ethers - that much more valid!

Lightworker's Daily Re-minder:

I ask that spirit walk with me this day and that I have the courage to carry this truth within me in all that I do.

  • To fully stand in my own truth and power is to honour the spirit within
  • Help me today to re-member both who I am and who I am not.
  • Who I am is magnificent, yet to carry a facade of who I am not only detracts from that magnificence.
  • To accept the truth of my own limitations, clearing the path to carrying my true power.
  • I know that holding my power is only possible when I am not afraid of being vulnerable.
  • This day I will balance my ego by checking it often and see my true motivations.
  • I accept the power that is rightfully mine and will to use it to create Home on this side of the veil.
  • I ask that I may allow spirit to emanate from me to all who choose to look upon me, that I may be a perfect mirror so that they may see the God within themselves
  • Help me to touch hearts with my love and allow each to re-member home and who they really are as I re-member who I am.
  • As spirit walks with me this day I remember to give thanks for the gift of spirit on my shoulder. May I always use it to the highest good of all concerned.
  • I vow to enjoy this day to its fullest and to laugh at every opportunity.
  • This day I will play the wonderful Game and I will carry the vibrations of Home in every move on the Game board.
  • This day I will be my joy - full self!
This day I will Re-member.

Mind over matter-even with exercise

Do Anything Better

Old thinking: Dive right in
New approach: Think first
Scientists from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation found that when men and women simply imagined exercising their little fingers and biceps for 15 minutes a day, five times a week for 12 weeks, their strength increased by up to 35%--without actually moving a muscle. This is a testament to the power of the mind-muscle connection, says Sean McCann, PhD, sports psychologist with the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. "When you visualize an action, your brain develops a model of it that allows you to recruit the muscles you need and perform more effectively and efficiently when you actually do it," he says.

Improve results: Take a few seconds to picture yourself performing a perfect set of squats, executing a smashing tennis serve, or even just briskly walking down your favorite path. Then get out there and do it.

Avoid Drop-Out-itis
Old thinking: Take time off
New approach: Skip the rest days
Exercise--even a light workout--actually reduces next-day soreness and speeds your body's recovery. The reason? It increases blood flow, which delivers healing nutrients to your muscles and flushes out metabolic waste. Plus, "when you move your body every day, whether it's taking a walk, lifting weights, or simply stretching, exercise becomes part of your daily landscape, which means you're working out more consistently," says Steve Glass, PhD, a professor of exercise physiology at Grand Valley State University. "And that almost guarantees faster results." (Read: You'll burn more calories.)

Improve results: Do some activity every single day, even if it's only for 10 or 15 minutes. This doesn't have to mean more exercise. Simply borrow time from your other workouts and spread it out over the week.
