Survey @ MindSay

Ooh, found a survey for the year
And it's 4 am, the perfect time for one.

1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?

I went to an above-ground graveyard.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I didn't make any last year. But I think maybe next year I may try to learn to drive and to play some sort of an instrument. No promises, though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Not this year.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Fortunately not.

5. What countries did you visit?

None.

 6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?

Emotional stability.

7. What date(s) from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Man, I don't even know what date it is half the time, so I guess the only one was my birthday. September 20th, because I've existed for 22 years.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I was more social than previously, so I made, if not friends, then some acquaintances and possible future friends.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I could have taken better care of myself.

10. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
I actually got sick less this year than I usually do, so go me!

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Microfiber lined tights. They have saved my ass several very cold times.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

A friend of mine has been successfully dealing with a lot of her problems and has decided to write a book, that's pretty awesome.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed?

I hear tell that my last two exes have been crazy and drunk and asshole-y, that's pretty depressing.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Cheese.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

I got asked out on a date for the first time ever this year, I was very excited about that. Also, I got to go to a Reverend Horton Heat concert.

16. What song(s) and/or ablum(s) will always remind you of 2013?

"Pretty When You Cry" by Vast and a bunch of music by Beats Antique. And some old blues.

17. Compared to this time last year, you are:

A lot more depressed.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

I think I did my best given my situations and amount of time, so nothing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Feeling depressed, but what can you do.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

With my boyfriend and his mom.

22. Did you fall in love in 2013?
Yes.

23. How many one-night stands?

Three, all awful.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
3rd Rock From the Sun

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I wouldn't say hate, I'd say avoid with passionate distaste.

26. What was the best book you read?
The one that jumps to mind is Dogs of Babel. Maybe it wasn't the best, but it surprised me the most with how good it was. Ooh! And Love and Rockets. And the Diviners by Libba Bray. And Habibi. And actually, there were a shitload of good ones I read in Arizona, also.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Old blues.

28. What did you want and get?

Passion. For a bit.

29. What did you want and not get?

Lack of depression.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I really liked Dark City and Rusalka.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 22. Jaime and Josh took me out to Cincinnati, but it started raining and I felt out of it all day, which was probably a bad omen.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Lack of depression, personal space, having more of my friends around me.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
Oh shit, my clothes don't fit anymore, and also short shorts and mini skirts exist, yay!

34. What kept you sane?
Stubbornness.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I was going to say none, but I just saw Joseph Gordon Levitt on some late night show on TV. Oh my.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

I've been pretty out of the loop this year.

37. Who did you miss?
My friends Chance and Nikki.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Probably Josh. And Brady is a very good sudden friend, also.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013:

Alone time makes me less crazy. On the other hand, it also sometimes makes me more crazy. So it's a crapshoot.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

I live in this country now
I'm called by this name
I speak this language
It's not quite the same
For no other reason
Than this is my home
And the places I used to be
Far from are gone.

Only because I think I did this one back in 2007
on myspace or something

1. What is more difficult for you, looking into someones eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someones eyes when they are telling you how they feel?
- How I feel.

2. Think of the last time you were REALLY angry. WHY were you angry? Do you still feel the same way?
- I only enjoy feeling angry therefore I am always angry, I don't know.

3. You are on a flight from Honolulu to Chicago non-stop. There is a fire in the back of the plane. You have enough time to make ONE phone call. Who do you call? What do you tell them?
- Honestly? Anthony. "I'm dying good luck trying to replace me call my mom cause I can't"

4. You are at the doctor’s office and he has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live. Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going to die? What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid?
- Nope; not a damn thing would be different; and I don't think I'd be afraid-- relieved to have such less stress.

5. You can have one of the following two things. Which do you choose? Why? Love and Trust.
- Trust. Because I need trust to feel safe and I'd rather feel safe than feel loved.

6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not?
- I can't really swim. Better to grab someone else and tell them to save the poor thing.

7. Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most?
- The one I love the most because nothing hurts more than broken trust. I will also never forgive you for breaking my trust so . . .

8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say?
- "If you're for real, you're a fucking idiot, I'm not what you think you want." This goes for anyone really, not just a friend. People sometimes get the wrong idea, the wrong impressions . . .

9. Think of the last person who you know that died. You have the chance to give them 1 hour of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours. Do you do it? Why or Why not?
- Of course. I'd give my entire life for almost anyone, really.

10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?
- Yeah, because then someone would finally understand that I never want to leave my house except for when I actually do.

11. Does love = sex?
- Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no. Does anyone really believe this anymore? I'd rather have love though you can keep that sex shit I don't want it

12.Your boss tells your coworker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee. You have been there much longer. Your coworker has a family to support and no other means of income. Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company? Why or Why not?
- Lmfao no, I'm poor as shit too. Sorry.

13.When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say? Who was it? What did you have to tell the person?
- This should arise soon, but it hasn't yet. I don't really talk about my feelings to anyone but I'm never really dishonest about my feelings so I don't really know how to answer this question.

14. What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite sex, you love them or that you do not love them back?
- That I do not love them back. Actually, what I find hardest to say is "I know you're lonely and I hate that you're hurting but I can't be with you tonight because it's bad for me."

15. What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up? Why would it be hard to lose?
- Control. Because.

16. Excluding romantic love, when was the last time you told someone you loved them. Who were they to you?
- Probably my mom? I love a lot of people, and they hear it frequently, trust me. Probably too much. Every one of my boys hears it every night at least once as I hug them goodbye when I leave work.

17. If there was one moment and one time in the last month what would you change and why?
- Eh, maybe I wouldn't be so grumpy but I dunno it gives me some sort of private satisfaction

18.Imagine it is a dark night, you are alone, it is raining outside, you hear someone walking around outside your window. WHO do you wish was there with you?
- Someone creepy is walking outside my window? Is this what the question is asking? Matt, I'd want Matt with me because he would kill a motherfucker for me

19. Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? Why or Why not?
- No because I don't know how. I'd try to get them help though. I'd call 911.

21.You are holding onto your grandmother’s hand and the hand of a newborn that you do not know as they hang over the edge of a cliff. You have to let one go to save the other. Who do you let fall to their death? What was your rationale for making the decision?
- lolfamily? wut? I don't have family let that bitch fall

22. Are you old fashioned?
- Traditions mean a lot to me.

23. When was the last time you were nice to someone and did NOT expect anything in return for it?
- . . . always? Always nice to people who have not wronged me, it's just how I live.

24.Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a broken heart, or never loved at all? Why?
- Never loved at all. I have enough pain.

25.If you could do anything or wish anything, what would it be?
- Wtf. I can wish anything, that doesn't mean it would come true. I'd climb a mountain safely and effortlessly. I think that'd be cool.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Praise You in This Storm
words by Mark Hall/music by Mark Hall and Bernie Herms

I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.

Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away

Chorus

I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth

Chorus
