Another year older, another day wiser.
Well I'm 21 now...

Nothing's really changed. I don't feel older or wiser, nor do I look it. However I do feel that another milestone birthday has gone and passed me by. I've yet to accomplish all the things I said I would and now I just feel depressed. I keep telling myself I do all of this by my 18th birthday....I'll do all of this by my 20th birthday...I'll do all of this by my 21st birthday. And you know what? I never do any of it. I feel like my whole life is filled with empty promises to myself.

So I can buy alcohol now..whoopdidoo. It's not like I didn't drink beforehand.

Ugh. It must be one of those days for me now....

Tschuess!

I have to admit it was quite unexpected!
When I went in to work today, it was just like any other day.

I started unpacking some orders in the freezer, when Bill (my manager) comes to tell me Gina needs help from you on the computer. So I head back to help her and much to my surprise there is a chocolate cake with lit candle. Then everyone starts singing Happy Birthday to me! I was so red-faced. I couldn't stop smiling and my face was totally red! I didn't even know what to say...it was such a good feeling. I really like working there. I've work with so many nice people, it's almost like a great big family.

They gave me a card and everyone there signed it with personalized wishes and thoughts. Not like a standard card where everyone just says "Happy Birthday, So-and-So." It was filled with good luck wishes and heartfelt thoughts. I really was just floored by it all. I was practically speechless. I don't think I've ever felt that good in such a long time.

Gina made me a gluten-free chocolate cake with a strawberry topping. It was absolutely delicious!

My birthday isn't really until the 31st, but since she was going away on vacation she made it early for me. I have to say I really enjoyed that cake. :) I'm so grateful to work in such an awesome grocery store!

My 21st Birthday was yesterday... and it sucked!! and so did my party on Saturday. I will never again celebrate my birthday. I hate it anyways. I wish that I had the option of forgetting it, but to many papers and what not ask for it.

(no subject)

Had one of my good primary school friend Tina's 21st birthday party last night.

I turned up late because I spent a good two hours shopping for Tina's birthday preasent. Oh and I didn't have a cocktail dress, I improvised with a skirt and dressy top.

For Tina I got a lovely black floral photo album times two that was wrapped up in a silky ribbon, from Myer. It was pretty expensive, but for a 21st that's ok. I'm glad I got one for her because everyone was taking photos and she'll end up with heaps. I think those albums fit 200 photos each.

It was a lot of fun. My friend Tina used to be a dancer and one of the guys is a dance teacher, so there was lots of dancing. She hired out a hall in the city.

It was good that I knew about four or five people there. Three of the girls I used to be friends with in primary school, but since the start of high school we haven't kept up, so I didn't speak with them much.

I met Tina's grandpa and family, gosh she's got a huge family. 'Bout as many cousins as I have.

Yeh, good music, food, drinks and friends. I started having water after a while, after all that dancing it's needed. Boy my feet hurt though, boys, avoid girls feet when you're dancing, even if the girl is sitting down, it still kills, lol.

I got a lift home from one of my friend's brothers. Otherwise it would've cost $40 for a taxi. So I'm very thankful that Stella's brother just got his licence. Yes, I'm still working on getting mine. Will take a few more months and then I can drive myself home.

I think next time I go to Tina's I'll bring her parents a bottle of wine or something, if they drink wine that is... Because they not only booked out a hall for her birthday, but paid for everyone's drinks as well on tab until about midnight. Oh and let's not forget the abundance of food. And the cake that they will be eating for the next two weeks.

Hoy - Today

So yeah, great night. I was meant to be having lunch with Krishna today, but I only just got up, so I had to send her a message and I'll give her a call in a bit.

Next up, chocolate making with T+ youth group. When do I ever have time to do part B of Relational Database Design? Never, nunca!
