American Idol @ MindSay
Here's hoping that all the efforts of VOTE FOR THE WORST, Howard Stern and the mighty telemarketing hordes of India bear fruit and that horrible singing little girly-boy becomes the next American Idol just because this broad is a total knucklehead.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your American Idol is... TAYLOR HICKS.
In a non-surprising result night (except for Prince performance, Mary J. Blige's outwit, outdo and outperform job and Toni Braxton hideous dance number), Taylor Hicks, the silver haired break-a-neck soul singer from Alabama won the American Idol.

I am not from the United States, but thanks to cable tv. 75% of what I watch in television came from foreign shows. I admit it, I am not really a great fan of Philippine TV. There is nothing really great about it, except for the nomination/eviction nights of Pinoy Big Brother and some melodrama soaps (believe me, Filipino loves to cry). We only have two TV networks (well, technically, we have a lot, only these two are visible due to competition), so we can't really choose. And this June we are coming up with a local version of American Idol (guess what, Philippine Idol). Then we are going to see if Deal or No Deal will be a nice alternative for our local game shows. You see, there's nothing much local about our tv, if not a hybrid, it is a complete copy of existing foreign shows and Filipinos are not alarmed about it.

I hate to say it, but Philippine entertainment industry is annoying rather than exciting.
So I was thinking to myself how I feel about Katharine Mcphee losing American Idol...
I was upset Katharine didn't win becuase guys aren't very emotional. It was like watching Reuben win. Uneventful. At least Taylor tried with that whole retarded "soul patrol" crap. I'm happy for Katharine becuase she's too good for American Idol, and her career is going to go places so far and beyond Taylor's becuase she has POTENTIAL, and Taylor's already peaked. He'll fade away like Reuben unless he can be as appealing in the studio as he is on stage.
Katharine will just grow and get better for many years to come. She's been losing her voice for the past month, but she still sounds FANTASTIC. Her second performance of Over The Rainbow never fails to make me cry, and I watch it a million times a day. Taylor, though unique, is just a flash in the pan. Katharine is one in a million...influenced by many but utterly incomparable. With the voice of an angel and her natural, unmanufactured beauty, she'll become a legend, and all of America will hang their heads in shame at their joke of an American Idol.
Feel like having a good cry?: http://www.americanidol.com/finale/videos/?vid=408 (Her second performance of Over The Rainbow)
I'm starting to get into American Idol again. I think they have some really good contestants this year. Here are my top four contestants:
1) MANDISA
I love this woman. Her voice is strong and powerful and she sings with clarity and precision. She also told Simon off without making herself look bad. Indeed Simon ended up looking like a tool. He made fat jokes about her in the beginning and now he can't get enough of this sultry BBW (big beautiful woman). He called her last performance "sexy" and I dare say that he may have gotten some wood at that table. Another reason I like her is because she looks a lot like me! My sister remarks on it all the time. That's right we are both Big Beautiful Cocoa Goddesses. Ya'll betta recognize!
2. TAYLOR
This guy is a phenomenal performer. It seems you can literally taste his Southern roots of blues, country, soul and rock and roll. When he gets into a song he starts doing that "holy ghost" dance. That comes from deep down in a person's soul! Plus, I dig how he's not afraid to show everyone he's not "hip". He's got gray hair and he doesn't give a damn! Give 'em hell Taylor.
3. CHRIS
Every year I seem to fall for the rockers. This guy is FANTASTIC. I loved his "Walk the Line" performance. I love how he commands the audience's attention. He's got some serious rocker "mojo" going for him. I'd like to put him on a plate and sop him up with a biscuit! *whew! it's getting warm in here*
4. ELLIOTT
This man's voice is like BUTTA. He can't just sing he can SANG! He is definitely a good example of Blue Eyed Soul (okay his eyes are more hazel, but you know what I mean). I really love how he did the Stevie Wonder song he performed. I think he could definitely be a contender, especially after he gets his American Idol makeover. Remember what the makeovers did for Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson?
Ok so everyone i wanted to make it last night in american idol did...kelly pixler (yay i got her name finally!) paris something, lisa whatever her last name is, gray haired dude, patrick hall (the dude i couldnt remember his name), oh and ace dude.
i give props to mandisa for telling simon i didnt need a bigger chair but i could use a bigger stage-how great is that! there are tons of talent on this show so im excited to see the new crop!
thank goodness the britejaflkajdf twins are gone! yay and props to american idol for making fun of them! again i love you dvr!!! so american idol just HAD to end at 903 huh? well lucky for me i was able to play lost from the beginning. and omg lost was great. im too addicted to that show. poor poor hubby-again there i was talking at the tv. im waiting for the day when he puts me away. either that or i amuse him haha.
