Grammy Award winning artist John Mayer has announced that he has acquired the popular blogging network MindSay, a subsidiary of MindSay Interactive LLC.  In a statement, the musician said, “The users of MindSay seem to love me even more than I love myself.  Having a whole community of people dedicated to blogging about me is something I’ve always wanted, and, I’m happy to announce today that I’ve reached a deal to buy MindSay in exchange for three autographed guitars and an ‘awesome’ photo with Adam and Brian.”

MindSay co-founders Adam Ostrow and Brian Klug are expected to leave the company, effective immediately, so Mayer’s new team can step in and launch what the artist is calling “v4.”  While he wasn’t clear on specifics, he told reporters outside his home in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico that the first change would be replacing all blog designs with 150 pre-made John Mayer templates, representing each one of the songs he has recorded since signing with a major label.  

Asked for comment, Ostrow said “we had to stop waiting for the world to change - the time was simply right to sell the company.”  Klug was not as enthusiastic, saying only “Why Georgia?  Why oh why?”

A conference call has been scheduled for 4PM PST this afternoon to discuss the news and will be broadcast live on MySpace, since most MindSay users are expected to have terminated their accounts by that time and switched services.
