OK, if you don't like political stuff then turn away . . . now.

My rant today involves the deceit of the government of China. For two decades now, the chinese government have been trying to convince us in the 'west,' that they have moderated their policies and that the people of China are now more free and able to conduct business in the "western" fashion than  ever before.

The debacle of Tien-en-Mihn square all those years ago inspired a policy of "apparent change" which basically meant that the government of China would allow it's people to own businesses, travel and buy 'western goods' in order to make the nation appear more 'free'.

The overall image of modern China is one of openess and prosperity, welcoming the 'west' with open hearts. The truth is somewhat darker. The veneer of this modern openess is thin at best and when it cracks, we see that the real China isn't buried deep.

China is a repressive society, run by a power-grabbing minority who crontrol the press, the marketplace and every aspect of the individual citizen's life. The stated aim of the chinese government is the overthrowing of the free world and the total communisation of the planet. Do not be fooled, this is still their aim.

Recent events in Tibet have prompted people to remember the true nature of China and to ask the question: "should we boycott the Beijing Olympics?" The immediate response from the Chinese officials is:" But that only penalises the athletes." Well, they're right so I suggest that since the original Olympic games were predicated on the feats of individual athletic achievement, we should send our athletes as individuals, in the true olympic spirit. No national flags, just athletes.

As for you, the audience - I say don't spend your money going to the olympics, stay at home and watch the TV instead. Don't visit China, don't spend your money there. When they show us that they are truly civilised, by leaving Tibet to Tibetans, then we will welcome them to the international community as equals. Beware people, there are more snakes in the garden than you think. Islamic terrorists aren't the only ones we need to be wary of.

Another thing: Show your opinion with your cash, don't buy chinese goods!

My step dad always says; ">O Don't buy ANYTHING made in CHINA! I hate CHINA!"
I find it funny.. :]

It's kind of like they think that the whole world will bow to them if they say they're changing their ways.

Yeh, it's like they're saying: "no it's OK, we've changed, we don't hate you now and we're really nice now." The worst part is that businesses are all over them because of their cheap labour rates.

Hey! *out looking for a big sausage* I just dropped in to Spam your inbox with this Anti-Spam note to say "Thank You" for having taken the time to stop in at my blog Boo.

-->
China is a repressive society, run by a power-grabbing minority who crontrol the press, the marketplace and every aspect of the individual citizen's life. <-- One could also say "America is a repressive society, run by a power-grabbing minority who control the press, the marketplace, and every aspect of the individual citizen's life" and that statement would be dead on the money here too Boo.

This one is a bit tricky -->
The stated aim of the chinese government is the overthrowing of the free world and the total communisation of the planet. Do not be fooled, this is still their aim. <-- but when you stop to consider that "The stated aim of the United States Government is the 'liberation' of the 'oppressed' world and the total DEMOCRATIZATION of the entire planet" it puts things in a different perspective ...does it not?

I mean what's the difference between a government who's citizens live under a  'true democracy', and a government who's citizens live under communistic rule?

I mean don't both of those forms of government have a 'Ruling Class', a hand full of families, that think it is their God given right  to rule mankind?

Wasn't that why the old farts that set up the government in the USA set it up as a REPUBLIC and NOT A DEMOCRACY!

Well hun, the buiiggest difference is that in Chine if you blogged this, you'd be charged with: "behaviour dangerous to public stability" and when you were convicted, they'd shoot you.

Simple.

Well, here they don't even bother charging you with anything because then you'd get a trial.

When you get too close to the truth here you just mysteriously die... or disappear... kinda like in Russia.
