lately I've been listening to mostly Liza Minnelli (God if I could sing like that) She has amazing power in those lungs. Also been listening to Judy and I'm also saddened by her life. If you listen attentively to her music I think you can hear the pain in her voice, especially of course "Over the Rainbow". Nothing else has been catching my attention. I made my own Queen cd of songs that I like, mostly the obscure ones you never hear. The Academy is... has a new album out that I need to check out. Of course I'm still obsessed with The Frank Sinatra Vegas box set which is bloody fantastic. Last night I was watching Al Jolsen on Youtube, a singer that doesn't get much attention these days. He started a record buying boom back in the very early days of records, before Bing and Sinatra.
Rosie is off the view so I don't even bother watching it anymore. People kept attacking her for speaking her mind. Well that's what we need! This country is in so much trouble and if you can't see that, you must be walking around with eyes closed. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who annoys me, is allowed to speak her mind. The reason being, Republicans are in control. If this was the other way around it would be different. Rosie was the only one I know on television to talk about the fact that the twin towers in New York didn't just collapse because of the planes wrecking it into the buildings. If you look closely you can see tiny explosions mid tower before the building falls completely. No one wants to hear that. I don't blame them and maybe it's because no one wants to believe there president is a bad man. It's like having a parent with a substance abuse problem or some other problem and not wanting to admit to yourself there is a problem. At this point I don't care who they elect anyone would be better than the current President. The only one I really like on the view is Joy and I hope she stays around.
What happened to Saturday Night Live? Remember when the people on the show were actually funny. 30 Rock is the funniest sitcom since Seinfeld left the air. The only time I watch television anymore is Thursday night and Sunday nights.
Will these ridiculous reality shows ever stop. Doesn't anyone have creativity anymore to think up a decent television show, well one that is a Law and Order or ER rip off, I'm tired of those shows too.
