The front doors of the houses open into the streets
There's no room for front gardens, just a two-up, two-down
In a northern industrial town...
And so another meetin' with management has come to pass and what has been learned from the entire experience?
Lesson number on: when offered the choice between sweet snacks or salty snacks the Business Unit Manager (B.U.M. and I'm not getting paid enough to make this stuff up) always goes with salty and the B.U.M. goes for 'em with a vengeance. Be mindful of your fingers when reaching anywhere near the salty yummies...
Lesson number two: when the HR Manager is tired, she gets cranky, which in turn leads her to say things that the B.U.M. wishes would be better left unspoken at least in front of the plebes...
Lesson number three: some folks will obsess over insignificant points for far longer than is required to make the point that they had originally tried to make...
Lesson number four: when cranky HR Managers say that the company is cheap to the B.U.M. a laugh can be generated by the B.U.M. if one happens to say, "I think she actually meant to say the company is fiscally responsible..."
Lesson number five: regardless of the number of meetings scheduled with the plebes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. It is truly amazing to me at least over the course of two meetings spanning 3 1/2 hours (2 1/2 hours longer than any other shift) the fewest number of employees have the most to say. And unlike other shifts, the meetings were never disrupted by arguments; and yet things will not change for most of the points that were discussed this year were the exact same points that were mentioned last year and will probably be the exact same points that will be brought up next year for the points require that members of management have to actually do something in terms of work and taking action and as we all well know the more money one makes, the less one has to do in the corporate world...
And now all I have to look forward to is my annual review that will take place before the 1st of April...
Woo-hoo! Another 18 cents, when will I ever find the time to spend all of my newly acquired wealth?
This is the Word of the AntiCrust...
Praise be ye who Read the Word for ye are Blessed amongst humans...
