Here are the lyrics to one of my old fav's. Check it out. FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME
Foreigner
I would climb any mountain, sail across the stormy sea
If that's what it takes me baby, to show how much you mean to me
And I guess that it's just the woman in you, that brings out the man in me
I know I can't help myself, you're all in the world to me
Chorus:
It feels like the first time, feels like the very first time
It feels like the first time, it feels like the very first time
I have waited a lifetime, spent my time so foolishly
But now that I found you, together we'll make history
And I know that it must be the woman in you, that brings out the man in me
I know I can't help myself, you're all my eyes can see
And it feels like the first time, like it never did before
Feels like the first time, like we've opened up the door
Feels like the first time, like it never will again, never again
chorus - open up the door, won't you open up the door
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~In response to yesterday's song yrics ... My Man, I always liked this song, too ... it's a real moving song, but when I learned the lyrics ... I was almost outraged. And we wonder why a woman will stay with an abuser. This is the culture many of us know, or knew. This is what both history and much today in our TV shows, magazines, movies etc ... this is what we see. It may not be what people say they believe, but ... This is the stuff that should have been the focus of the "women's lib" movement etc. but the media is all around us, with images of "beautiful, but brainless" women. Most of us even laugh about it. Our girls are still taught (not in words, but in images - and what is the cliche, one pic is worth 1000 words? ) that if they are not attached to a man, their life is pointless, empty, lonely ...
