Voting for American Idol is sooooo much more important than the stupid president!
Certainly rates more news coverage! After all ... you get to PAY for the honor of voting on Idol! Voting for the Pres is for the old folks that have nothing better to do.

And until we decide to become well informed and opened minded to study all information and both/many sides AND exercising our right to vote... well, enough said. But more importantly respecting the beliefs and opinions of others as we do express and voice our 'take'. I do enjoy reading/listening to others view - and sometimes we have to look past and through those that express theirs with anger and even prejudices because I've learned from many of those messages as well, as they too have something to say.

I hope we can, too, velvetdreams. What's happening now is not only ugly but irrational. It's gone beyond politics to blatant hatred. I'm wondering if the only thing that can pull us together is one great, common cause--but I'm not sure that even another devastating terrorist attack will do that. We will simply try to place the blame on someone in government.

As I'm sure you agree, our HOPE is not in flesh and blood, nor does He wave the American flag. But He is Just, and His mercy triumphs even over His justice! But if I can care, and you can care ... then each of us CAN! Will we???
I feel your pain. There are those who would wish us to believe we are polarized (divide and conquer), but we must be very, very careful not to confuse hatred (and disloyalty) with dissent. When the loyal opposition dies, America dies with it.
Absolutely! It is not the PEOPLE with dissenting views that bother me. It is those who bombast the other side for their apparent intolerance meanwhile displaying the identical apparent intolerance and the mudslinging begins ... Childishness!
So, their views don't bother you as long as they shut up? And who should be allowed to speak?
BOTH sides ... and it's not the speaking that is the problem, if you'd take the time to read what I wrote. There is a kind way to disagree and still respect the individual, and then there is a juvenile way with name-calling and generalizations.
