we watched the first few episodes of Pushing Daisies and loved it. We need to burn some stuff off to dvd for storage before we can download anymore though.
Since I don't have cable, or even local TV, I only rent or buy movies and series. Rebekah came through for me and burned a bunch of episodes on dvd for me so I wouldn't miss out. In a way, the writer's strike has been kind for me = no new shows aired means I have more time to catch up on series I'm missing. The LOST season 4 premiere was okay. The island stuff is getting weirder, but it's lost a lot of its sparkle. Still, it's good to see Sawyer...
Hope you're doing well. How have you been since/before the birthday?

I'm tired but good. i'll do the short version of things and write a big blog later...
party went ok- rowan made out like a bandit. our house was trashed from the 15 people over, I'm still cleaning it up. Spent 7 hours out yesterday- 2 1/2 of which were spent at the clinic near Mayfair mall, 3 1/2 in the car traveling, and about an hour having supper. Twins are doing well- Juniper is catching up in size and doctor is no longer so worried about them but told me to keep resting as much as possible and to keep drinking the protein shakes as they are working.
Today is Rowan's dr checkup and Thursday I have labwork and my doctor checkup.
My cousin Kaili passed away yesterday at the age of 15. She's been fighting systemic JRA since she was 4 or 5 and all the medications she'd been on were just too much with the massive infection she was fighting.

I've realized something today: I don't want to do anything. All I want to do is be lazy. And have a kitty on my lap. foreverknight 's comment below about a kitty interrupting a blog reply made me Kittysick (homesick for a cat). Today's a perfect quiet winter grey day made for lounging around. Hope you're getting all the cuddles you need!!!
Ok. Now I go back to whatever I was doing again. Icky work. Bah!

We still have a lovely kittah if you want one. Mama cat is absolutely lovey-dovey and in need of a home. (We had her fixed and declawed so she would be an inside only kitty.) Just let us know if your able.
No pressure though. I can understand if you cannot. *hugs*
No pressure though. I can understand if you cannot. *hugs*I want to adopt! But it's one of those things I have to budget and since my main source of income is via SSI -- well... let's just say they don't often approve of pet expenses. However, once I talk to my doctors and make a case for a need for companionship being good for my mental health, I'll be looking for a feline friend!
I was going to type a long reply then a kitty came along and sat on my arms. Haha.
I have to agree that show Pushing Daisies really has everything going for it. I did love how it isn't made for the general media but for those who want to be enthralled and stimulated again. My creative kick began when I started watching those eps. I want to rewatch them over and over!!
Your right... I have been buying pies a lot more. Everytime I see the Pie Hole I want cherry pie. Mmmmm.
My dreams have been so strange lately. I think I dreamt about a lot of pennies last night. That and Inspector Gadget. Haha! Go go Gadget humor!
I love your description of the Spider People. I love spiders.
I know what you mean about the ears feeling like having swimmers-ear. I've had that for the past couple of months. It's like my ears wont pop and my voice reverberates inside my head. It gets pretty annoying.

That's what kitties are for : to remind you that you're loved when your attention is elsewhere!
I can't wait for more episodes. Just found out that PD won't continue until fall 2008! ARGH!
Cherry is a favorite. So is rhubarb, strawberry, raspberry... It would be fun to have a PD party and have each guest bring over a pie mentioned in the episodes...
I'll have to draw some sketches of the spider people -- some of them have tails and extra eyelids!

I just love your description of the spider people.
Btw, there are crows flying right now by my bedroom window. It's 9:30ish at night.

I'm so excited! It's so pretty!!I've been writing down a list of all the pies (including the cup pies) that are featured in the series. Some of the desciptions on The Pie Hole menu are absolutely delish! I'll post my list someday once I'm convinced I've got them all down...
Thanks about the spider people. I'm not sure when I'll tell the tale, but no matter what, I'll try to post previews of stories sometime here on my blog for my pals like you!
Thanks! I should never be bored, but I do get bored, and so when that happens I have to, absolutely have to do something, even if it's make believe

spiders
I am fast becoming a big fan of
An odd thing that provoked me to sit down and handwrite a short science fiction story about another world; spiders. It's not because I've had dreams about spiders (I do tend to have a lot of those, but not recently) or that I've seen a spider crawling in my home (a lot of them tend to hang around) but because lately my ears have been "stuffed up" as if I have swimmer's ear or something. A brief moment of panic over my ears (I've never had problems with my ears, so go figure) and I imagined that maybe a tiny spider somehow made a web in my ears. I know this was just my imagination working overtime, and to change it into an image that was helpful and less stressful on my ears (I've been suffering from differences in biometric pressure due to the weather, not due to any excess of fluids in my ears, thank Gods), I began to meditate on the image of a spider... but not just a tiny one. Big ones. Ones that are the size of a dog or cat. I then began to remember some article or television science show I once watched where someone was experimenting with spider silk to design a more effective form of Kevlar vest. Can you imagine what the silk of a very large spider would be like? Or that it could be used to create a very ingenious type of fiber for clothing? So, after putting drops in my ears to keep the pain of the "stuffiness" at bay, I relaxed into my bed and programmed my mind to dream about large spiders that I could cuddle with and touch -- big, soft, furry spiders like none to be found on this Earth. Sure enough I got this entire story about a race of human beings whose entire culture is centered around spiders. I really saw them as real people, as real spiders, in my mind, so real I thought I'd wake up and see them. In between dream and waking, I felt for certain that they exist. So I immediately picked up a pen and a blank journal and wrote down everything I could remember about the Spider People.
