Just been working on exercising my ink drawing skills.  Did a few self portraits to warm my fingers up for doing other drawings...  Did too much detail for a simple warm up project here and ended up making my right arm sore.  I'll do some more later.  Just wanted to post these for now.  Astute readers will note that I changed my profile picture to the little black and white comic booky illustration from the top right of the portraits.  Just me and a little exclamation mark says it all...

Thanks!  I've been told that I illustrate hair very well.  I'll be posting more illustrations soon.

Thank ya.  I do have a lot of hair.  I think it's my best asset.  Most people when they first meet me want to play with my hair!

Oh, speaking of hair, I just discovered this awesome product that scents my hair so nicely, I wish they had it in a perfume bottle.  It's a hair smoother/strengthener that gets the frizzes out.  It's called "Hydra TLC 24/7 Creme by Sunsilk"

ooh. i love that stuff. I use that in conjunction with john frieda brunette shampoo and conditioner. It's the only stuff I have found that gives my mousey brown hair some oomph.

I can't get enough of hair food, honestly!

Nor can I resist nail laquer -- I'm wearing OPI's "Hollywood and Wine" -- a deep, blood red garnet that makes me feel like Vampira.

Have a good weekend... I'm off to help my friend with her store.

And here's to better dreams, too!

We have a makeup outlet at Gurnee now.  they carry OPI.  I wish that I had had cash on me as I would hve stocked you up for a year.. or maybe a month or two.  They had all the glittery dark lovely shades that make me look even paler than normal. Right now mine are this really pretty color called faerie prism- its a light pinkish purple that doesn't look like i'm wearing polish until the light hits it.

Re: Self portraits in ink
Thanks!  I had to scan them in several times to get the full picture, hence there's several takes of this.  I don't think there is a scanner bed big enough to fully capture my ink paintings...

I'm also beginning to see "my style" as opposed to how other artists ink their work.  I tend to have this deconstructed retro deco kind of thing going.  Not sure what to call it yet...
